Chris is a 42 year old guy from Caracas, Venezuela
I have been a passionate naturalist and birder for as long as I can remember. Within that, my main interests are fungi, moths, birds and people's interactions with nature. As a conservation biologist I have worked in Latin America since 1988, mainly on national park management, biodiversity policy, threatened species and birds. As time goes by, I find myself leading more nature tours and my company, Birding Venezuela, helps fund my conservation work - at least that was the theory! Music and books have always accompanied me on my travels.

AOU | Check-List of North American Birds

The AOU is pleased to announce a new web page for the Check-list of North and Middle American Birds ( aou.org/checklist/north/ [aou.org/checklist/north/] ). The check-list is now in a searchable database. Users can browse the full list of species as well as search by scientific/common name, family, or order. They can also download the entire list or their search results in an Excel compatible text file. Species names in the search results table are linked to the respective Birds of North America account ( bna.birds.cornell.edu/bna/ [bna.birds.cornell.edu/bna/] ), if an account is available online.
The new check-list page also has a link to the committee's main web page ( aou.org/committees/nacc/index.php3 [aou.org/committees/nacc/index.php3] ), the 7th Check-list and supplements, pending and prior proposals, and guidelines for submitting a proposal.
