I love it when people take origami to the next level. It's not only clever, but sometimes I feel like if I see another paper crane I will stomp on it.

I liked this story. It also explained why there was a guy with a 'free hugs' sign on the bridge in Harajuku when I was there in November. I wish I'd known about it then, because I kind of wanted to hug him and was stopped by that 'what if he's just a weirdo' fear. He was looking so hopeful and no-one was taking him up on it. I guess that's the point of the campaign in the first place - to allow people to connect with others on a simple human-to-human level that we rarely see.

I love this concept! I'd love to see one in person. The website itself could be better designed, but it's worth checking out the gallery link to see examples of people interacting with art: a sensitive floor that responds to the way people move across it. They plan to do walls and desks in the future.

Songza is something new. The interface is almost too simple. I've already discovered an eclectic mix of new music (new to me anyway) just by letting the top ten list play. I didn't have to save my playlist for it to be there next time I visited, so it's obviously remembering it by your ip. I was stoked to be able to find some music I miss from Japan and La Tortura by Shakira, which is in Spanish, meaning that it's not limited to songs in English. I haven't yet tried searching in Japanese characters, but as at least one title has come up in Chinese, I'm assuming that Asian language searches are possible. I'll be playing with this for a long time.

I love Earth Album! You choose a country and get a selection of photos that are of that country. The cool thing is that because you are getting the top picks on Flickr you end up with some astounding photography, and the ability to go straight to the Flickr album of the photographer in question and see more of their work.

We seem to make these blunders over and over, and the world is worse for it. I'd add an 8th: development without sustainability.
