Thanks for passing this one along. People often say things like, "He/She is strong and has been through so much worse, yet always manages to come out okay in the end."
Well my answer to that is this: "Never take serious depression and/or suicide warnings lightly, no matter how many times someone has been down that road. Because even the world's strongest swimmer will eventually drown if he never reaches land. Sometimes, people who never find a place of true safety get tired of treading water and simply can't do it anymore."

- The authors hypothesize that latent inhibition may be positive when combined with high intelligence and good working memory - the capacity to think about many things at once - but negative otherwise. "If you are open to new information, new ideas, you better be able to intelligently and carefully edit and choose. If you have 50 ideas, only two or three are likely to be good. You have to be able to discriminate or you'll get swamped."

Those who tell us to "go take our meds" because we don't think or act the way they think we should can go take some IQ pills. Some of us prefer not to drug ourselves to a state of becoming boring cog-in-the-wheel zombies (like some narrow-minded, unoriginal people I know). Like us or hate us, it is we "differently-wired" sorts who will be most remembered.
