my friend marianne started a little farm in her backyard that has evolved into a “kid camp.” her recent addition of goats has met some controversy among neighbors, so she’s started a petition to amend the the carrboro animal control ordinance to allow goats within city limits. she has turned her backyard into a teaching farm for children to learn to love gardening, farming and living sustainably. i think her work is so important for the future and the fact that it is within city limits makes it all the more accessible. please support marianne’s efforts by signing the petition on her blog.
