Paco Ahlgren is an Austrian economist and has worked as a financial analyst for eighteen years. His expertise ranges from stocks, options, and futures, to interest rates and real estate. Ahlgren founded a value-based hedge fund in 1998, outperforming the S&P 500 for seven of the eight years he ran the fund -- a feat accomplished by fewer than 5% of all money managers in the world during the same period.
He has spent the last two decades studying quantum physics and its implications on modern scientific, economic, financial, and psychological theories, as well as its dramatic similarities to Eastern philosophies -- most notably, Taoism. Paco's first novel, Discipline, is a confluence of these passions. The book won the 2008 Eric Hoffer Award, the 2008 Next Generation Indie Book Award, and the 2008 FOREWORD BOOK of the Year Competition Silver Medalist Award.
