Within the next decade it is likely that we will be eating, grasshoppers,locust, various grubs, caterpillars And...and... bread flour produced by drying and crushing meal worms! Yum-yum.
We are having friends round tonight for dinner and thought we would surprise them with a full course extra special meal with a rather nice full bodied Alentejo red wine. Here is a little taste of the fare....

It would be ' in the public interest` if a prosecution under the Fraud Act 2006 (http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/d_to_g/fraud_act/ ) and/or the Theft Act, 1968,Section 17,False Accounting, were considered. I am not surprised that there is now a breakdown in Law and Order (the recent riots and thefts in UK) when corporate companies blatantly, it is alleged raise false or misleading documentation to obtain money or other pecuniary advantage. Corporate companies are setting a bad example.and I'm trying to remain polite.

For decades the general public paid their taxes so that their elected representatives invested money into publically owned water companies. Everyone was a share holder. Drinking water was available to all.
Then those public water authorities were sold as private companies by the public's elected representatives and the general public told that they could buy shares in the new private companies. Some rich people bought many shares and a few poor people bought....a few.
The people who bought a few shares were advised over and over again that now was the time to sell their puny amount of share so most of them did and you can guess who bought them.
The majority of you do not own a water company any more. Have you been conned? Of course you have.

Cheaphitts (Richard) is currently being buffeted by Murphy's Law. Murphy has a nasty habit of messing your life up just when you thought all was going well. Cheaphiits is battling on and Murphy is thinking about going off to bugger up someone else's life for a while. Some folk are lucky, they never meet him. Most of us have...several times.
We will all be eating them... very soon !

As an advanced driver I have been astounded at the lack of skill and knowledge when it comes
to negotiating a roundabout here in Portugal and a few other European countries. Poor driving
technique on the approach, negotiating and finally exiting a roundabout must, in my opinion,
lie within the teaching practices of driving schools. Signalling one's intended manoeuvre is
essential and therefore I was shocked at the advice given in the above website.No advice on signalling at all!

Of course roundabouts are all different in design but the following diagram (from a wiki page)
gives reasonable instructions on how to tackle them particularly in relation to signalling.
But even this diagram is flawed. Watch the yellow car coming into the island from the right and indicating to go left. On exiting the island the car should be taking up a nearside,defensive position safely away from the oncoming traffic who are approaching the roundabout. I would only take up that position if there was no immediate danger and I was going to take another left very soon afterwards.
OK, lesson over!
