One question.... how do you put a foot on the ground when you stop?

A great how-to page. His basic premise is that bikes are easy to fix, and for the most part, I'd agree. This inspires me to clean my chain and drivetrain tomorrow.

Wow. With a good trailer, it looks like you can move just about anything by bike.

Looks like they carry lots of stuff, and the bikes couldn't handle it. Not a ringing endorsement for Giant Expeditions. Man, they listed every little thing they carried.

These are some amazing bikes. I'm surprised at, overall, how little they've changed over the years. There's a track bike pictured that looks like it could go right back out to the velodrome if it had some air in the tires and a spot of duct tape to repair the seat.

Good tips about travelling in general and bike touring in particular. I especially like the ones about avoiding tourist areas and the people who deal with tourists, and watching out for stereotypes.
