Permaculture started in Australia, but has now gone global. It's really just another word for mindfully sustainable agriculture. You create little ecosystems and microclimates to get dual use and greater productivity from your land. This site is an umbrella one, and useful for ref and ideas.

I studied Permaculture, did the whole course, and have a diploma in it but apartment living offers few opportunities to use it. A handy legacy tho is seeing things in terms of multiple uses and organic interdependent systems.
