Last login: 7 weeks agoShannon is a 33 year old woman in a relationship from Great Falls, Montana, USA.
My real name is Shannon, but "Cat" works just as well. I'm a homemaker and freelance artist/writer currently living in Montana with my fiance and my one-eyed ginger cat. In addtion to the above, I'm also a card-carrying introvert, a history buff, a wanna-be chef, a stubborn dreamer, and well... a little bit of an egomaniac, but in the most charming possible way. So I hope, anyway. You can find out more about me by surfing over to my website at shannonhilson.com. There is plenty of my visual art, creative writing, and poetry there to keep you entertained. I also keep a blog there for those of you that are interested in keeping up with me outside of Stumble Upon.

One of my latest Squidoo lenses -- on Sweeney Todd this time. Find out what the real story is behind the Sweeney you know, learn about what the barber profession was like during Victorian times, among other treats.

I enjoyed this article from Bon Appetit Magazine's website on wine consumption. The author share health benefits, as well as personal tips she uses to insure she doesn't overdrink as well.
DaciaRay.com & How to Hem Jeans

I don't personally wear jeans, but I know most people do. I also know most people have a lot of trouble with jeans being waaaaaaaay too long these days. This tutorial presents a really simple method for shortening your jeans while preserving the original hem. Even I could do this, and I only know anything about sewing in my wildest style-dork fantasies.
STYLEnosh : ARE YOU A STYLE HATER???
May 13, 2008 12:19pm    (1 review)  fashion, blogs, style  http://www.stylenosh.com/stylenosh/2008/...
Actually, this lovely lady's entire blog is a very cool read which I highly recommend to women who are interested in fashion or style. However, I can really relate to this particular post. This same type of thing used to happen to me at jobs where dressing up or being stylish was optional all the damn time.

I'm not really sure when having style, or liking to look nice, became a sign that someone thinks they're better than everyone else. Don't get me wrong, because I definitely have my days where I just throw on whatever or don't wear make-up because I'm going to be sitting around the house playing video games, but I love clothes, and make-up, and perfume. I like to dress nicely more often than not, so part of me longs for the days when people thought that almost every day... every person (including themselves)... was worth dressing up for.

For the vintage art lovers who have me on their watch list here. Note to self: "Next time you feel the need to add another branch to your artistic tree, try vintage art." I've always wanted to, you know. Just one of those things on my "Million Things To Do Before I Croak" List that I haven't gotten around to yet.

This is one of my favorite pieces of art from Seth. I love not only the colors, but the sense the viewer has that they are intruding on the subjects of the painting.

I love this image. It's so imaginative, and the colors are beautiful. It makes me want to sit down and make a painting of my own right this minute... and then another... and another.
