  • Where are we being taken to?

    Created Nov 06

All of a sudden, this whole social networking thing looks pretty boring to me. Everybody just seems to be involved in a never-ending process of promoting themselves/their content/company/etc.

There is no real interaction. People seem life-less, emotion-less, playing millions of tricks to gain visibility for some unknown/partially-known goals. Human mind wasn't made to compete with machines OR to act like machines. This very behavior makes them look boring, un-interesting object.

Someone tell me how many people do you really interact with over here @ StumbleUpon? You may have thousands of fans/friends but how many of them really care about who you are or how you're living your everyday life?

I think it'd be a lot better if we developed such an application that did all the boring works on our part, leaving us free to do what only we (humans) can do: feelings, emotions, care, help, etc. These are the qualities that we're known for. Sadly, in recent years, we've become so machine-like that this life doesn't really seem to have any meaning, other than trying to compete with machines -- in doing what a machine can do way better than we can.
