    Dear Miss A,

I am a 40 year old women who has not yet found someone to grow old with. Since I can't refuse to grow older and I'd prefer to do it with a partner, I'm turning to you for help. I was married for a short time at 29. We had a beautiful daughter and were separated after two years of marriage. Since then I have been raising my daughter and dating very little. I lived with a man for a short time when I was 37. It did not end well but I did learn a lot about myself and the desperation one can feel when getting older and trying to find love. I am, to a certain extent, fine with being alone. I love having

I "dragged" my fashion friends downtown from the far reaches of Old Town Alexandria to accompany me to the DC50 Fashion, Beauty, and Lifestyle Expo at the Washington, DC Convention Center. When I told them Nigel Barker would be there, it didn't take too much convincing. Hello, Hottie!!! Here is a pic of him being interviewed by the beautiful Katie Rost.

    Dear Miss A,
A friend who I have had a crush on recently moved to a city 4 hours away from DC, after spending her entire life in Upstate New York. She and I went to college together, but I transferred to another school for my final two years. While we were never really close friends but rather acquaintances, I have always wanted to date her because I always felt like she is a awesome person with shared core values. My question is how do I initiate contact with her and see if she would be receptive to going out on a date with me without scaring her off, or thinking I am so desperate. Aside from an occasional happy birthday wish on Facebook, we haven't spoken much in the last few years. I know long distance relationships can be hard, but I think she is worth it. Any advice on how to turn this friend into a potential girlfriend?

When I was living and dating in DC, my friends and I would often times email one another stories that seemed to be descriptive of our current dating-plight. "Essentially, we are doomed", was one article that I recall by name, explaining that men these days are stuck in perpetual adolescence, and the days of men who value career growth and care-giving were long-gone. After you hear enough of these stories and see them lived out, it's tempting to believe that it's true. Men in their twenties or thirties would text or email instead of call, they would take us to coffee or drinks instead of a proper dinner-date. Effort and a sense of pursuit seemed all-too-lost on this generation of men, who have convinced a generation of women that the "text and hook-up" dating world of our college years was all that we could hope to expect until men neared forty and wanted to settle down.

Yes, that's right! While the Salahis threaten to sue others who call them "White House Party Crashers" are using the same term for their own shady purposes. The Salahi's celebrity attorney Lisa Bloom`s wrote an email to the cast of "Real Housewives of DC," in which she wrote "The Salahis did not `crash' the White House dinner, nor the Black Caucus dinner." Bloom goes on to say, "It is simply a false statement of fact, and defamatory, to call the Salahis `party crashers,' as it suggests they have committed crimes." Apparently, it's fine for the Salahis to use the term "White House Party Crashers" for their own financial gain, and also ok for them to gain financially by suing others for using the term.

If my readers havent met oeThe New Ann”, let me introduce you! Ann Taylor is an old friend of mine! Shes a girl with whom many of us went to college, and started our careers. It was the late 1980′s and 1990′s. We had so much fun together " getting dressed up for college formals, first dates, deb parties, then wedding receptions, job interviews and baby showers. Ann got married, and was busy with her bright career and being a good mom. She had let herself go a bit, and fell on some hard times financially like so many of us!

Diane Dimond has shown herself to be quite fabulous at personal attacks on people she doesn't know, but I'm not sure she was cut out to write a book and investigate the Salahis. She seems to have swallowed their lies hook, line and sinker. As I mentioned the other day, Dimond writes in her book that the Salahis left the State Dinner at the White House because of Michaele's MS attack. Dimond fails to account for the fact that the couple walked across the street to the Hay-Adams and stiffed the bartender after having dinner and drinks, as the Washington Post reported.

Speaking of MS, this so-called revelation about Michaele having MS is no new revelation. It's understandable that the Salahis would lose track of all the lies they tell, but they must have forgotten that they DID go public with Michaele's "MS diagnosis" before. The Salahis used this "diagnosis" in trying to raise money for their nonprofit, Journey for the Cure, which is currently being investigated by the State of Virginia for charity fraud. The MS Society was one of the charities supposedly supported by the Salahis' Journey for the Cure.
