    The University of Michigan's three-wheel car, Continuum, is racing 17 other entries in the North American Solar Challenge, a 2,400-mile road race from Texas to Canada. The vehicle is covered with more than 2,500 solar cells that team leader Jeff Ferman says "put out about as much power as your hair dryer."
