I remember seeing this John Carpenter movie in the theaters back in '84. I liked it then, and I still like after watching it again last night. Although certainly a product of it's time in both tone and SFX, the casting is solid and the story holds up. This is John Carpenter's "softest" film, and can be considered a family movie.
