Goldman admits they "goofed". No. They did not "goof": They were incompetent. They gave horrendously bad advice. This advice was financially devastating to their clients. During the period of time in which Goldman was proving disastrously bad at market analysis, they gave their bankers the highest bonuses in their history. Now they're looking to their man in DC, "Paulson" for 'support'. This isn't a "goof". This is a swindle. And you're the stooge. Got it?

This is excellent writing. A beautiful Op/Ed. Also striking is that the quality of the writing (from an air-conditioning repairman, no less) makes regular Times-staff contributors like Maureen Dowd look like junior high school English-students. A great piece.
