Darfur

An explanation of Darfur situation from Arab point of view. Actually, it seems non-biased and covers a lot of the angles, of which there are many.

FLATLAND, BY Edwin Abbott. Complete novel available here. There are now 2 film versions. 1. flatlandthefilm.com [flatlandthefilm.com] by Ladd Ehlinger Jr. and 2. flatlandthemovie.com [flatlandthemovie.com] (possibly a little higher production values, but I don't want to pass judgement, not having watched either movie.) This book took me far beyond my meager math abilities into the imaginative world of the 4th dimension. It also was my first introduction to the concept of "racial discrimination", thus preparing me for the world I wasn't yet living in... and confirming my status as "liberal". Plus, introducing me to the concept of thinking outside the box... if a guy from 1887 could go there, why not me? I probably would recommend the book over either movie.
