  • Sarah Palin&s intervention backfires for Republicans |...

f.p.:  "So much for Sarah Palin
and the plans to rebuild the Republican party in her image. The former
vice-presidential candidateâ€s intervention in the choosing of a
candidate for yesterdayâ€s special congressional election in northern
New York state has backfired. As a result, the staunch conservative Douglas L Hoffman, backed by
Palin and other right-wingers including the TV personalities Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, had to concede defeat this morning to Democrat Bill
    Owens.
    "

    Yes! Yes! Yes!
oh, I know, this means nothing, and I am still very very concerned that the Conservatives will make their comeback before we Liberals even have a chance to put a dent in their Insidious Plan to Destroy the World... and of course, as slow moving as we are, not much has happened yet.
    But, still. Yes!

  • Kate Winslet libel win strikes blow for normal women...

From the page: "The reporter disputed Winslet's claim that her "enviable muscle tone" was simply the result of doing Pilates workouts at home for 20 minutes every day and suggested she was still "going for the burn" with regular exercise. The article was accompanied by naked photos of Winslet in various film roles, intended to illustrate the writer's point. "
ummm, excuse me? 20 mins of Pilates a day is NOT regular exercise??? Whoa, am I ever out of the running.
She so pretty though.  Did you ever see the movie "Romance and Cigarettes"?  She can be raw, but she was So raw!  Funny.  Plus the movie was enough to make my friend quit smoking (cigarettes).

Thumbed up for interest. A blog for stumblers who do it for advertising. It was an interesting discussion and I didn't even follow all of it. I did learn that when you stumble the same sites over and over, you devalue your own??? Don't know if I understood that right either, however, it would explain why I have more limited traffic??? I like to go back to my friends and revisit... Or did it mean that if you thumbs-up the same site over and over That is what causes the negative for you? I don't know and don't really care... just this little blurb that I found seems to signal what is going on:
From Page :   "I am sorry - but when it comes to Stumble and what it is being used for
at this point... you are in a very small group of people. Stumble like
most social network sites are used for and promoted as
"traffic-drivers" - yes they may have been born of higher and mightier
ideas - but in the end - that is what it is. It is what Stumble is,
Digg is, BC is and and and. Yes, I have definitely found some great
sites and reads on Stumble, Digg and BC - But in the end - I can find
just as many by using a "random blog" feature on Word Press or Blogger,
without all the "socialism." I have made some good friends and some
good business contacts because of the interaction and because of the
"teamwork" that promoting each other involves."
I do not see this as any kind of  nefarious plot... rather just the inevitable outcome of the invention of Social Networks... as long as we remain Capitalist (which I am not against, in this case) and with freedom of expression.  I only want SU to still leave a place for us little peons who actually keep the system going, to have the same freedoms.  Hopefully, that is how it will work out...

  • Health coverage plan was no insurance at all |...

    Rated Oct 28 2 reviews insurance startribune.com

I can only hope that publicity spreads and people realize that they should stop believing the Conservative and Fox Lies.  An "unintended consequence" of the bad economy and unregulated capitalism.
From the page:"I was royally duped," said Mary Lloyd, a painful admission from a
woman who spent 27 years as a clinic and hospital manager. "I
understand health care, and I understand health insurance," she said.
"That's why I was so mortified that this happened to us."
No one knows how many customers have fallen into this trap. But
dubious health plans are "spreading like poison oak all over the
country," says James Quiggle of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud,
a nonprofit watchdog in Washington, D.C.
Consumer advocates say companies are taking advantage of the
recession and the growing number of uninsured people -- 1 in 5 American
adults under age 65 -- to sell "health coverage" that evaporates when
customers try to use it, or provides far less than promised.
Just last month, Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson sued two
out-of-state companies for allegedly misleading customers with phony
claims about their health plans; and ten more investigations are
    underway, she said.
"Here, they're targeting people who are pretty sophisticated, and
who really asked all the right questions," Swanson said. People believe
them, she said, because they're "so desperate to find affordable
    coverage."
