Completely ignoring my request not to say that!

They really are trying to push this shitty new version aren't they. That's really disappointing because up until now I have always had a good opinion of the StumbleUpon team.

OK, so now it's reverted back to the correct country. What's going on here?

I had cause to send the following to the developers today. Watch this space for the answer.

Hi folks,

I've been a member of StumbleUpon for a few years now and been very happy to use it. I don't agree with the pending deletion of the classic format, but that's another story.

Today I notice that I apparently live in Glasgow ENGLAND, rather than Scotland, the country it's actually in. StumbleUpon will not let me amend this because when I change it and save the changes it defaults back to England. I know there's another, newer, user who had this same problem a week or so ago.

Now I am no raving nationalist, but that's like me saying you guys live and work in San Francisco, Mexico or San Francisco, Canada. It was working fine until today, so please fix it and don't bother coming back with "it's because you're using the old version perhaps if you change to the new one it'll work" as this may cause me to reluctantly leave StumbleUpon.

Good decision. For me, the longer it takes the better, and if it never happens even better! But realistically it's going to happen and NC2K's suggestion of keeping access to a classic version has much merit and I'd add my support to it.

I've just reached the maximum number of friends on StumbleUpon.

200 doesn't seem like an excessive number to me, but I guess the developers have their reasons. Probably. I'll have one of my periodic culls soon, when I delete any friends who haven't been online for a while, and probably delete any friends whose posts/stumbles don't grab me anew within the first couple of pages when I look at them again. Starting of course with those who haven't reciprocated my addition of them to my friends list, and then perhaps moving to mutual friends. In any case, don't be offended if I remove you as a friend, it isn't personal, I just like to ring the changes every now and then by adding new friends and deleting some old ones.

In truth, I've kind of got out the habit of using StumbleUpon, but I've had so much fun with it in the past I'm loath to just quit this community.
