See a Smoker in a Non-Smoking Area? Call 911

Oh my... I definitely wanted to give this a thumbs down... this is so ridiculous, it's almost humorous!!! Terrorists, guns in schools, the government tapping our phones and monitoring our internet usage... but call 911 is someone smokes a cigarette!???

From the page: "If you catch someone smoking in a non-smoking area in Omaha, Neb., call the police. The Omaha Police Department (OPD) is encouraging city residents to call 911 in the wake of the citywide ban on smoking that went into effect on Oct. 2.

Teresa Negron, sergeant in charge of public information of the OPD, explained that the department encourages observers of infractions to pick up the phone to report the infraction -- just like they would for any other crime they observe being committed."

If this video doesn't drop your jaw, nothing will! I lived in Moore until last July, when I moved here, the next city over. The tornado in this video took so many lives, and completely wiped out homes of people I know.

In case any of you DON'T know, and end up in an area with a tornado, do NOT seek shelter under an overpass! Three people died last week doing that. The pressure builds up under those overpasses, and it is deadly. Look for any kind of structure for shelter, in the lowest area available. Get out of your car, if you're on the road.

Not trying to "preach", but I know a lot of people, who don't live in tornado prone areas, just don't know. My dad, for instance, was driving out here from California one year. There were tornado sirens going off, but he didn't realize what they were. The radio in his car wasn't working, so he just kept driving. I thank God that it's something we can laugh about now...

But it is that time of year. We all know about the deadly Kansas tornado that ripped through a small town recently. We had several tornadoes here in Oklahoma this past week. It's not uncommon to have several pop up at once, in many different areas. The ones that do the most damage are heard about, but there are so many, that do destroy homes and lives, that aren't talked about as much. Please, keep everyone in all of the tornado prone areas in your thoughts and prayers.
