So, these dogs died because of pesticide poisoning. Want to know the scary part?

From the page: "The ministry took ditch water samples on Nov. 8, 9 and 12 and tested them for a wide range of pesticides, algal toxins and other environmental contaminants. The tests found only low levels of contamination that are "well within provincial water quality objectives" and not poisonous to wildlife."

Within provincial water quality objectives? Something tells me the guidelines are just a touch loose. You have to wonder who our governments are protecting: citizens or those who produce and use these chemicals?

Sensible Canadians aren't split on what should happen to the long gun registry. They know that it never should have happened.

If you want to go down the road of totalitarianism, just get rid of all the guns. Every dictator has gun control in their arsenal to control a society.

Everyone should be able to protect themselves and their families.

Had a good laugh about that one. Social media is easy, yes. Anyone can do it. Whether or not you're going to succeed doing it, that's another story.

I can't stand photo radar. I wish governments would just be honest and admit that it's a cash grab. They don't really care about safety or you stopping speeding or running red lights. If you stopped that, they'd come up with a camera for something else.

Interesting perspective on how to find happiness, and some of it may even work. I agree that tying yourself to the consumption monster isn't going to make you happy and getting away from it is the first step.

I will disagree with the bit about the news though. If you ask any journalist, and they are completely honest and know what they're talking about, they'll tell you the newsroom is the most important part of any news company; "news" being the operative word.

Sure, advertising helps to generate the paycheques, but if you didn't have the news, nobody's going to buy the paper or watch the program for the ads. Get real.
