God has really died this time. And, as his Mother Night so gently urged us to know, "When you're dead, you're dead." That's all.

We can console ourselves in the Hocus Pocus and other tricks or treats he left us. Then move along, re-minding one's self to try never forget to always, "Just be kind."

We've switched!

Enough of endless antivirus frustrations and diddling about with fixing near-unfixable cracked apps. We've switched to Ubuntu (Edgy Elf) 6.10 and, so far, it's almost all upside: faster, more stable Net surfing and downloads, faster startups and shutdowns, simplified menus and much cooler, more elaborate user interface.

Why didn't i do this so much earlier?

Update-AD.2008.05.18.14h25.ICT: After about nine months, and dozens of installations and uninstallations, or not, from the thousands of app's and servers Ubuntu's repositories afford, plus a not-so-easy upgrade to Ubuntu "Feisty Fawn" 7.04, this box starts slower now and the "mplayer" app can sometimes blank and lock-up the screen, making all command consoles, even the terminals completely inaccessible by anything less a jab of the box's reset button. Still, even after at least a hundred UPS-less power cuts, the 10s of gigabytes of data added to this box's SCSI drive are still accessible with no corruption noticed so far, and no signs of malware or hack penetration to date, even over a shoddy Vietnam ISP's ADSL link.

Just testing ClipMarks' SU interface -- and tooting my horn yet again.

Still, there's a fairly interesting piece about negotiating traffic in SaiGon here. And an entry has been added to Go Vap! - SighGone at govap-sighgone.blogspot.com/2007/03/more-death-by-traffic-in-sign.html [govap-sighgone.blogspot.com/2007/03/more-death-by-traffic-in-sign.html]

BBC - 1Xtra - Panjabi Hit Squad

My Net Budget's about to be blown (yet again ).

'Tis true: "Panjabi Hit Squad spin the freshest Desi street beats!" Leave it to the historic masters of dance to make modern pop imminently danceable again. The sounds! The voices! So many exhilarating sounds and voices punctuate, permeate these Desi beats.

Do your best to NOT move to this music. Kudos to BBC Radio 1xtra yet again.

Plug the url under this post's title into RealPlayer or other for best effect. Don't bother trying to seed your Pandora Radio with Desi beats. Bin dar. Tried dat. Cun't be dun...

Of two packages DHL'd to their home from China, Ludivine Larmande said, "My husband started to unwrap one and said, 'This is strange, it looks like a liver'. He started the second one, but stopped as soon as we saw the ear."

PeoplePC UnLtd reports, "DHL is investigating whether it should have shipped the body parts and how the [other 27] packages were dispersed, spokesman Robert Mints said."

Nice... :)))))

Quite consciously foregoing further comment on their slick nick and endearing avatar, dullhead's elegant blog posts put him/her/it among the most enticing stumblers i've run across, sorry, stumbled upon, so far. Don't stop at page one.
