A witty saying proves nothing.
The brain is the ultimate parasite.

*edit at the bottom
I have deleted most of my blog. I did this on purpose. If you read what I have to say you might agree.

1) Nobody cares what I think.
People only care about what they think. Because my political views vary from both democrat to republican nobody will read what my blog says. People like to surround themselves with feel-goodism. In stumbleupon, that means they thumb down sites they don't like and thumb up sites they do like. Because people dislike sites that I like and like sites that I dislike, my su is not often visited by anybody.

2) News ages.
I have blogged releases of new software, bank robbery videos, world records etc. All of these things will become old and outdated. This makes for a dull blog for the person who goes through my archives. People might love a new release of Ubuntu, but a year later, that's old news and people will hate stumbling upon those old release pages.

3) I'm not getting quality stumbles anymore.
It seems every day that there is less and less to find. Maybe one in one hundred stumbles is worth mentioning. There are many "repeat stumbles" where people thumb-up mirrors of pages, or copied content just to get their rating/fans/reviews up. I'm not interested in photography as much anymore because all the photos begin to look the same. But apparently some people love blogging 20 different angles of the same landscape or different landscapes that look similar. That's not for me.
Also, I'm not getting quality *stumblers* anymore. Negativity is far too overrated. Gorbichov gives bland reviews and is a hater but gets great reviews of himself. Uncertain is sophomoric and also a hater and gets great reviews because of that. (They were only examples of what many su-ers are like, I'm not trying to put all the blame on them)

4) The UI isn't very good
SU is very cluttered compared to a year ago. Now, instead of SU being about finding great new stuff, it's about promoting SU itself. I don't like the integration of stumble video, I don't like the integration of stumbleupon.com [stumbleupon.com] and ader10.stumbleupon.com [ader10.stumbleupon.com] . I don't like the ads, etc...

*EDIT: This doesn't mean I have stopped rating sites with the thumb-up or thumb-down. Check out the pages I like.
*2nd edit - Monday, April 13, 2009: Please add a "demotivator" category to SU and allow users to block that category.

I don't have time to blog everything I thumb-up. Look at the pages I like! I have loads of better stuff than this front page in my archives, so check them out! Please pardon the rants/diction.
me + review if you like my pages!

me if you don't like. I can take criticism too.

My blog is best viewed in firefox. No, really, the design sucks on IE.

(This is supposed to be a tech-oriented blog, but I have a few political posts every so often)

Rocketdoc is a nice, intelligent man with interesting links of different sorts. He is definitely worth anybody's time and I would visit him right now! He is currently retired, and has been a rocket scientist (wow) and race car designer (wow).

Good idea. Too bad it's gonna be a dissapointment to people in the course. Hack to learn, don't learn to hack. Learning to hack has too much circuitry. Hacking to learn keeps your mind flexible.
