Paying almost $4.00 a gallon is one thing, but paying even more because federal regulators are too lazy to do the inspections and the "honest" gas station owners aren't going to report the faulty equipment if it's broke in their favor.

Average M-16 bullet (3000 fps) travels 30 feet in 1/100th of a second.
That's very very fast. About 6,336 miles per hour (mph).
That's Mach 10 or 10 times the speed of sound.
Same bullet travels 3 feet in 1/1000th of a second.
To capture a "still" of such bullet would require a camera speed of at least 30,000 frames per second where such bullet would only travel about 1/10th of a foot or about 1.2 inches in that amount of time.
The image still wouldn't be crystal clear.
If you really wanted a still you would need to multiply that by 2 so the bullet would only travel about 1/20th of an inch.
So the final speed would be roughly a camera that can film at 60,000 frames per second to capture a very clear still of a bullet in flight.
Fun Facts: If the bullet had no friction it could travel from Georgia to California (roughly 2,200 miles) in less than 20 minutes!
