  • How Many Times Do You Tweet Your Blog Post? | DaneBlogger

    Rated Oct 10 2010 1 review internet, weblogs daneblogger.com

I recently saw the poll on ProBloggerâ€s Blog on how many times you tweet your blog posts. And I thought it was okay to use the results he had gotten from the poll â€" so all the numbers from the poll is from ProBlogger.

I have tried to analyze these stats, to see what everyone does â€" and then tell them what everyone should do.
  • Monthly Mash-up : September

Rated Sep 30 2010 1 review internet, web development, seo websitebegin.com

To end every month, since June, I've been giving back to my readers with a post dedicated just to them. If you've been around WebsiteBegin a few times, you know how this works.

If not, there are two ways to get listed below - be a top commentator (which is listed in the sidebar) - or - write a fantastic post on your blog and tell me about it (via mail or comment, as I visit most commentators' websites).
  • WebsiteBegin | 10 Easy Ways to DESTROY Your Community

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

Chances are, unless you are talking to a brick wall, you have at least one person reading your oh-so-valuable content. That's a good thing. You need a community, much like a car needs gasoline to keep on going.

I don't know about you, but I do indeed like to get destructive every now and again. I usually just destroy things for fun. Not for a particular reason.

I've been making an online presence for the last few months, and I have learned a few do's and dont's when it comes to building up your community.
  • WebsiteBegin | Blogging Tip | Too Much Content?

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

If you're a blogger, you've probably got caught up in the whole idea that you need to pump out tons of fresh content over and over and over again.

I do agree that putting out fresh content is one of the many keys to gaining popularity. Heck, I wrote 83 consecutive posts (one every day) just a few weeks back.

I don't have a problem with every day posting, or even every-other-day posting (that's what I am doing currently). There is a problem, however, with people who do a little bit more.
  • WebsiteBegin | Monthly Mash-up : August (and Giveaway...

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

Much like last month, this month's Monthly Mash-up is a day early. Why? Because the last day of the month is a Tuesday, a day that I do not post content (as of this date).

This month has been one of the greatest in the history of WebsiteBegin. In total, WebsiteBegin has received more comments (over 450) than any other previous month.

For that, I'd seriously like to thank you, and I am here to show my gratitude. So, without further ado, let's hop into this!
  • WebsiteBegin | Why I Can't Stand PopUp Domination

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

Over the last month or two, many WordPress blogs have started using a plugin called PopUp Domination. If you've never heard of it, don't fret, for I will tell you all about it.

PopUp Domination is a plugin for WordPress created by Michael Dunlop. The purpose? To get more subscriptions to your mailing list.

It basically, as you can probably tell from the title, creates a pop-up on your website, and it then advertises your feed. It also has a space for people to directly subscribe.
  • WebsiteBegin | Why Apple Isn't Going Anywhere, Anytime...

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review anytime soon websitebegin.com

On September 1st, 2010, Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, showcased the new line of Apple iPods. Almost everyone who uses Apple products watched the event (which was live).

While watching some of the event, as well as hearing the buzz on Twitter, I began realizing something - Apple never really releases new things.

Now, you are probably sitting there thinking, "Joe... Apple has about 20 products you can buy... What are you talking about?" Well, let's discuss.
  • WebsiteBegin | Be Bold or Go Home

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

It's almost midnight... You are just finishing up that new piece of content that will go live in just a few ticks of the clock... Is the content good? Will my readers chew me up for it?

If you're someone who puts out a lot of fresh content, you've probably been in the above situation. Even if you haven't, let me dive into another.

Will sending out this tweet land me in the dog-house? Is it too one-sided? Am I going to get a million and file at replies that tell me how wrong I am? Am I being too bold?
  • WebsiteBegin | How to Effectively Guest Post

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

If you are looking for some extra traffic to your website, you may very well have done some guest posts.

Much like blog commenting, guest posting allows an audience on another blog to see your views on things. Your thoughts. Your knowledge.

Whether you get a link back to your website in the actual article, the author bio box, or in the sidebar, your website will get shown. So therefore, it's free traffic.
  • WebsiteBegin | Blogging Tip | Why You Must Love Writing

    Rated Sep 18 2010 1 review websitebegin.com

As I walked into my English classroom, today, I was told that we would never be given a topic to write about. Most often, my previous teachers would give me a topic and I'd write.

Now, this did not mean we would never write an essay again. Quite to the contrary. In fact, we were going to write about topics of our own choosing. So I could write about X, and Bobby could write about Z.

I am, as you probably have realized by now, very much in love with writing. I do it all the time. Whether it be for my blog or just for fun, I am always writing. If not, I am thinking about what I could write.
