This guy is a big bully and his trades are too risky for the average trader. I made a huge mistake when I originally rated this site with a thumbs up. It is my feeling that this site should be avoided by most who are serious about learning to trade the futures markets.

Basically, the style of trading here is sort of like a big roller coaster ride. Oscar would have us to believe that this is the only way these markets can be traded and anyone who cannot hang with it is a pansy who has no business trading.

If you have a big account, a strong stomach, and you can manage to sleep only on Saturday, this may be just the site for you. But for the rest of us it just doesn't seem to be a good fit.

This document explains that while the government did not officially give auto manufacturers tax "credits" to produce gas guzzling SUVs, it did manipulate the circumstances so the the net result made them more attractive to both buyers and sellers.

In a nutshell, business owners were basically given free SUVs because they could depreciate them over 5 years. And, while manufacturers were required to pay a tax premium on gas guzzling vehicles, these SUVs were excluded from the specification.

Therefore, what it says confirms that the market for gas guzzling SUVs was manipulated by the government. As a result, the auto makers did not have much incentive to produce more economical vehicles.

For the past couple of years, I have heard numerous debates about the existence of what has become known as a Plunge Protection Team (PPT). For those who may not be familiar, the PPT is an alleged group of government appointees who exist for the purpose of covert manipulation of the free markets.

One of the main reasons this is such a contraversial issue is that for the government to acknowledge such a group would basically be an admission of unconstitutional activity.

In this article, I believe that Hank Paulson comes about as close to such an acknowledgement as will ever be heard. While he does not specifically call it a PPT by name, he does outline activities of the President's Working Group on Financial Markets (PWG) that sound very much like what has been suspected of for the said PPT. It does not, however, acknowledge that any such activities were executed with prior approval from Congress. In order for the activities of this group to be deemed unconstitutional, it would have to be proven to have taken place without such approval.

For those who do not know what this is, it is rumored that the President's Working Group on Financial Markets (PPT) will interfere with the natural flow of the free market in an attempt to ward off potential crashes.

Let's see if I've got this straight...a weak dollar causes expensive oil and commodities; which, in turn, leads to high unemployment, low interest (cheap credit), high debt, and poor returns on investments.

I think I liked it better when there were higher taxes, lower unemployment, higher interest (expensive credit), and better returns on investments.

Our present economic policy has encouraged us all to go out and spend, spend, spend and run up huge amounts of debt. We need to get back to an economic policy that encourages us to save and spend our own money.

While all of this spending might look good on the bottom-line of the GDP reports, the GDP didn't look so bad when it had more tax revenue in the bottom-line either...and people were more prosperous too!
