If you're Christian like I am, you've probably noticed the increasing chasm in our faith. It's become a faith of hatred, racism, war...the exact opposite of Christ. The problem is Dispensationalism, a new reading of scripture that started in 1832. This is not Christianity. It uses Christianity and nearly half of American Christians have fallen for it. Nearly all 'Christian' programming and publications promote this. Most, but not all Evangelical churches have become swallowed by it. Largest mainline churches that have gone over to the dark side of dispensationalism are the Southern Baptists, Calvary Chapel, Four Square, most of the non-denominational community churches. They attract the most religious. It becomes a cult feeding upon itself and its victims, the church-goers lap up the promises of non-biblical ideas like rapture and non-christian ideas such as returning to the old covenant. I made the mistake of joining a Christian group on Linked In. It was so full of dispensationalists and people giddy on war, Israel and hating Arabs, Palestinians, Muslims and Catholics, I left after two months. Reason doesn't work with them because if their belief system is shown for what it is, then question everything. It's a convenient scapegoat. This article gives you the background. Fortunately 2/3's of the people in the US have not been brainwashed by this. We can reverse it, I just hope it happens before these people through their support of wars and worship of political powers, destroy the US and Israel. They will. War, death and destruction in hopes of forcing a second coming is all they care about. They're willing to kill, and they do kill. Their weapons are our military, our nuclear military.

I speak a lot about dispensationalism on this blog because I do see it as a disease killing Christianity. I also believe it is one of the most dangerous movements in the United States. It hopes for the end of the world. It's a killer theology. This excellent piece by Chuck Carlson goes into the struggles people like me trying to get through to Christians whom have fallen for this encounter. Jesus would not be a Zionist and He would not support Dispensationalism. It's that black and white.

This is an excellent lesson on what it is and a primary cause for the continued carnage in the Middle East. Why Christianity has become so blood thirsty and crazy. Well worth your time.

Unfortunately, Christian Zionists in America do not consider the Christians living in Jerusalem or Palestine since Christ's birth to be real Christians. You see, the Christians in Jerusalem, actually follow Christ and emulate Him rather than use Him as is common in America's evangelical, dispensationalist and rapture ready go-go-go for war Christian Right.
Some American Christians living in East Jerusalem for the past three years, friends I visited on my last trip there this spring spoke of the constant racism, 2nd class treatment and difficulties visited upon the Christians and Muslims of Jerusalem by the Israelis. Getting a bed delivered to the house proves difficult since Jewish companies, (I'm sure exceptions exist, they just haven't found them) won't deliver to non-Jewish houses. That's just a sampling of the segregation and difficulties Christians and Muslims under Israeli rule and occupation endure. And they endure it because misguided Christians in the United States support the oppression of Christians and Muslims in Israel fully.

I have one question for the so-called born agains, rapture ready and dispensationalists: What would Jesus do? Or have you forgotten? Try reading the Sermon on the Mount again and then take a trip through Matt: 25 and let me know how your racism and blind support of apartheid and Zionism supports scripture. I realize these passages are inconvenient to your warped biblical world view, but they are the essence of Christianity. You should try it some time...following Christ rather than Darby that is.

BTW: Our Lobby owned congress yesterday approved a 170 million dollar increase in security assistance to Israel as part of its new 10-year, 30 billion dollar defense aid commitment to the apartheid state. The vote was 94-6. Wonder how many people losing their homes and jobs in California would think taxpayer money better spent on supporting Americans rather than supporting apartheid? Bet quite a few.

Propaganda alert here people. More on this later since I just found it but very little accurate information. Joel Gilbert is associated with the Christian Zionists heavily from what I've been able to find out. This looks to be an attempt to push the McCain agenda, (this promotes Bush as not being warmongering enough and Israel as the eternal victim)
Fact people, Islam and Judaism have never been enemies until Zionism entered the picture and even then it's only been the last 60 years that fighting has occurred. There is very little on this slick site or its trailer that is accurate or true but it does promote hardline Zionism, hardline hatred of Iran, (let us not forget that Israel is the one with 600 nuclear weapons, not Iran. It errantly states the Arabs scream 'Death to Israel' or 'Death to Jews'; they do not--the translations in this are inaccurate.
To begin with, it is prohibited by the Koran. Secondly, the word 'Israel' isn't part of the Islamic dialect. This is not a documentary. This is very slick propaganda on par with with Goebbles. One more fact, Islam didn't eliminate Judaism. One of The Prophet's wives was Jewish and one was Christian. This is pure Zionist desperation on steroids!

The people behind this are here: afsi.org [afsi.org]

    This is their mission:
Americans For a Safe Israel was founded in 1971 by concerned Americans convinced a peaceful settlement of the Arab-Israel conflict would only occur when the Arabs realized once and for all that Israel could not be defeated militarily or in any other way. The founders were convinced that Israel must retain possession and control of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan. To abandon territory won in wars forced on it would make it vulnerable once again to renewed subversion and attack, not only by hostile Arabs in Judea and Samaria but unstable Arab regimes. AFSI is unique in its proud and outspoken advocacy of Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan as integral parts of Israel. AFSI believes that a strong Israel is essential to U.S. security and that the Jewish towns in these areas are the best guarantee against strategic vulnerability. Most importantly, the pioneering efforts of the residents in these areas have the potential of rejuvenating a dormant Zionism and igniting a second Zionist revolution.

I very rarely do thumbs down on anything. In this case, I must. This is dangerous and a root cause of many problems in the US today. Where do I start?

David Hockings is hocking dispensationalism hyper-speed, which is apostate theology so far removed from Christ it can only be called a cult. True, a cult now followed by 70% of American 'Christians', (most of whom are clueless that this is what they're following) but one rejected by Christ followers world-wide. A new friend of mine gave me this man's newsletter when I told him I was going to the Middle East and will be working in part on Christian and Islamic relations.

I suspected my friend might me under the influence of dispensationalism for a couple of reasons, but decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. What tipped me off? When I mentioned my work with Muslims and Palestinians, his demeanor changed. Subtly, but I picked it up. The other clue came when he said he only listened to 'Christian' broadcasting and didn't want to know anything that wasn't certified Christian. I only know of three Christian TV/radio programs in the US on mainstream radio/tv that are not dispensationalist. One of the primary reasons this apostate theology has become mainstream is due to broadcasters like the 700 Club, Hagee, Hin, Dobson, Bauer and yes, Mr. Hocking.

One of their ploys is to discourage 'Christians' from looking outside of their broadcasts for information. The reason for this is the holes in their theology become apparent very quickly to the educated mind. This whole mythology they've packaged in Christianity was born in 1830 with Charles Darby. Sixteen year Old Mary McDonald of Scotland, daughter of carnival workers, provided their 'rapture' narrative in 1832 and Cyrus Scofield wrote it all into the Bibles in 1908 via footnotes, heavily financed by Uttemeyer (of Federal Reserve fame among other nefarious activities) and others with vested interests in creating a political state we now call Israel.
This is not Christianity. Far from it. Don't be fooled. Jesus doesn't take sides and 'clouds' is just an apocalyptic term for 'judgment'. When he `comes on clouds' it simply means `He comes in Judgment'.

The best study on refuting the crazy `Christianity' this site promotes is by a former evangelical deacon called David B Currie, "Rapture: The End of Times Error that leaves the Bible Behind". He converted to Roman Catholic, and thou I don't support the doctrinal issues associated with Roman Catholicism, (I am Protestant) his hermetics and eschatology coupled with historical context from Hebrew, Roman and Egyptian archives is sound. Additional books documenting the insanity of dispensationalism include: Forcing God's Hand by Grace Halsell, On the Road to Armageddon by Timothy B Weber, The Final Apostasy by Dr. Gordon Ginn and one of the few non-dispensationalist books on Revelation: Revelation Down to Earth--Making sense of the Apocalypse of John by Edwin Walhout.

I've got some work ahead of me with my friend, getting him back to Christ and away from dispensationalism. It usually takes 18-months to deprogram people whom fallen into the dispensational hell they see as salvation. But God willing, we'll get there. Fortunately Christ followers like myself and dispensationalists like Hocking's followers do have a few things in common. The begin with, we love Christ. That's more than enough to start with.

Interesting commentary here that originally appeared in Ha'aretz about dispensational Christians.
As I've mentioned on numerous occiasions, dispensationalism is not Christianity. It is a redefining of the faith set forth in the 1830's but it has become the major driver of the 'Christian' right in the United States. At its core is a belief in causing Armeggedon, the end of the world, a delight at wars and suffering of others and the worship of real estate...Israel to be exact. Dispensationalists support Israel not because they like the people, care about the inhabitants or have a genuine interest in their welfare. They support it because they think doing so will force the end of times and with that either the destruction or conversion of all Jews to Christianity.
The bible doesn't say this at all. It's a twisting of several passages including Gen 12:3 and Matt: 25. The dispensationalists are to Christianity what the Muslim Brotherhood's militant faction is to Islam: deadly...only they use the IDF, US military and other nations to kill rather than do it themselves.

That she's created the largest flag in the world is something to be commended. Her reasons for doing so and the meaning behind it are not.

This evangelical Christian would have done better to create the world's largest cross and plant it next to Masada, (which would have been illegal in Israel because it is considered evangelizing, so much for the 'shared love'). Instead she chooses to honor a nation which regularly discriminates against Christians, imprisons Christians, kills Christians and persecutes Christians for being Christian or spreading the gospel. Rather misguided in my opinion.

Her worship of real estate is nauseating, especially given the disdain shown to the Filipino Community in Israel and how they are being used to fill jobs once done by Arabs. Dispensationalism, which is the type of Christianity this woman worships tends to blind its followers to the Gospels and meaning of Christ, replacing His words with flags, real estate and dreams of the end of times. This is an excellent example of how the love of God and service to him is replace by political idolatry.

Amazing we didn't hear about this isn the US Media, isn't it? Hardly. Zionism does not want American Christian Zionists to realize that Palestinians are also Christians and they're killing them with their anti-Christ attitudes.

From the page: The new Palestinian Christian campaign is designed to capture support from non-evangelical Christians.

"We are forging relations with Christian groups in the United States that support us," said Yousef Nasser, mayor of the Palestinian Christian town of Birzeit, at a Capitol Hill briefing. "The fringe Christians scare me," he added, referring to evangelical pro-Israel Christians.

------I have to agree. They scare the hell out of me too and one does need to ask the majority, (but not all) evangelical Christians in this country who have replaced Christ with political idolitry (nationalism--fusing the cross and sword), real estate idolitry (the nation state of Israel) and continue to preach hatred against Arabs, Muslims and anyone who refuses to bow to their distorted view of Christianity (Christianity looks like Christ and is best exemplified by the Sermon on the Mount) How exactly does their message support Christ's?

Christianity has a few basic principles that define whether a person is Christian or not.
    1) Christ is the Messiah
    2) He was crucified, died, buried and resurrected.
    3) Upon that resurrection, the sins of the world were forgiven

Hagee is not Christian. His books, both Jerusalem Countdown and In Defense of Israel promote a type of nationalist idolitry which uses Christ to make it palitable. What he promotes is pagan, not Christian. Jerusalem Countdown specifically is the second most racist book I've ever read...2nd to The Nordic Race, the white supremacist handbook and far worse than anything I've had to read by Hitler.
Christians have two commandments: Love God with all your heart. Love your neighbor (enemy and all) as yourself. Period. Hagee does and preaches neither. This man is what we call a pharisee, false teacher and not worth listening to. Fortunately more and more Christians are figuring this out as this piece explains.

CUFI is a major problem. This 'Christian' organization isn't Christian. (To begin with you'll notice there isn't a single cross anywhere at their convention). But Hagee is part of the problem. Christ never got involved in politics and Christians who are to follow Christ's example are never to get involved in politics 'In Christ's name' or 'for Christ'. We can be involved in politics, (as I am) but we are not to confuse the kingdom of God with the kingdom of the world. These are distinctly seperate in nature, purpose and in how things are done.

There is an excellent book by Greg Boyd called The Cross and The Sword. If you'd like to learn more about how unChristian so-called Christian Zionism is and anti-Christian groups like CUFI are, that's a really good place to start.
As for the Rapture BS they promote and this end of times scenario, this isn't Christian either. It's dispensationalism and goes against everything Christ taught. It also distorts the book of Revelation beyond recognition. David Currie's "Rapture--the End of Times Theory that Leaves Christianity Behind" is by far the best book out there that conclusively, using historical and biblical records, proves as insanity what has become the primary belief system of the majority of evangelical 'Christians' in the United States.
BTW, I am a Christian. I could be considered evangelical and I am very conservative. I also reject this departure...apostasy from Christ's teachings wholly. Please don't associate these people with Christianity. This is not what Christ is about or represents.
