Yes, near-completely agree. More recently I have bee working on some techniques such as DDD, TDD and (bordering on) XP which help me break development problems down into self-contained chunks. This means there is less requirement to hold the whole thing 'in mind' at a time. Whilst us devs do tend to work like that, I don't think that it is always the most effecient way of working.

However, yes - agree 100% with the "this is why we are rubbish at estimates" thing. The speed we can think through the concept of a problem is often only a fraction of the time it takes to solve that problem!

This is very interesting! Search and transcription of the happenings in the UK houses of parliament and also the European parliament. The transcribed text then allows you to play related pieces of video from debates at those places. It's a very nice way of making politics more accessible and relevant to the nation by allowing us to find what we are interested in.
