Branden is a 29 year old man from Bellevue, Wa, USA

My name is Branden. I studied Game Art & Design in Vancouver, BC Canada. I discovered my passion for creating game art and have been applying to game studios in hopes of becoming an Environment Artist. As I continue searching for a job as a game artist, I have decided to start blogging about games, the game industry and game education to share mine and other peoples experiences in the industry. My goal is to write informative blog posts, interviews and give current and future game students access to educational and inspirational articles that I create or find on the web. I have made some industry contacts and I plan on tapping those relationships to share their knowledge with you. I hope to keep you coming back as I continue down another route into an industry I look forward to playing a part in. Thank you for visiting my blog!

The day is finally upon us. After almost six years of development, internal studio issues with management, rumors of the title being a total disaster, and a ridiculous amount of money spent along the way, Red Dead Redemption makes its way to its final resting place, retail shelves on Tuesday May 18. Count 'em guys, that's two days from now....

Did you ever watch Twin Peaks? Yeah, me neither. But the folks at Remedy sure did, and it was through Twin Peaks that brought on the inspiration for Alan Wake's creation. And now the Live-Action prequel to Alan Wake, the 'Bright Falls' webisodes, are all posted online for your entertainment pleasure.

War! Huh, good God! What is he good for? Well, for the sake of this game review, kicking ass and taking names! War, the main character in Darksiders, kicks ass on a daily basis. Although you never really get the backdrop on why he is such a 'BAMF', it's clearly evident from the get-go that your name definitely gets around. Ultimately in the end, you'll have the urge to sink your teeth into this story more than the game allows you to do so. So let me warn you from the start, if you are one of those story-savvy gamers that gets all butt-hurt when a story is not deep or immersive enough, than do yourself a favor and skip this one. If ass-kicking, and hack-n-slash with a heaping dose of clever puzzles is your particular brand of Vodka, then you are going love Darksiders.

I've been saving some trade-in credit at GameStop for about a month now, knowing LP2 would be coming out soon. So I've been patiently waiting, not completely convinced I would buy it on release day, but confident it would be worth the purchase if I did. Still though, as with most games I buy now, I have to play the demo first before I buy. Just like when buying a car, I need to take it for a test drive to make sure my hard-earned money is spent wisely. So, I took the LP2 multiplayer demo out for a test drive.

There comes a time in every gamers life, where things start to feel the same no matter how hard they try to be different. Such is the case both for the bad, and for the good in Dante's Inferno. If you come into it expecting a new and amazing hack n' slash experience, you will most likely be disappointed. But if unique subject matter and a taste for twisted stuff like naked women launching vagina-shaped Hadukens at you out of their nether regions is your cup o' tea, then look no further.

Back in 2008, I was hopping aboard the rumor train and praying that a rumor about a sequel to Criterion Games' 'Black' was indeed true. If you remember, Black was one of the last FPS titles to hit the Xbox that showed the power of the last gen's console. To me, it was easily one of the best shooters on Xbox at the time. Even when compared to Halo and COD titles. It was a blast! You can actually play it on the 360 and if I'm not mistaken, you can download it straight from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

Remedy and Microsoft have finally stepped up to the plate, and delivered us a release date for the biggest game tease of all time: Alan Wake. Along with the X10 event today in San Franciso, we have been given a brand new Alan Wake trailer that helps break down what this game is all about. 'Fight with Light.' You'll be sure to remember these very important words each time you mosey on over into a dark corner somewhere and start hearing demons coming out the the forest. Use your flashlight, use a flare, turn on a light generator.. do whatever you have to do to rid these demons and figure out just what in the hell is going on in this psychological thriller, almost 5-plus years in the making.

I am a huge critic of Dead Space. From ripping the demo to shreds because I hated it so much, to shoving my words down my throat from playing the full game and actually enjoying it. Not just enjoying it, but putting it in my top 5 games I've ever played. Why did I like it so much? Because I enjoy horror games. I enjoy not knowing what's behind the next corner. I enjoy getting scared, freaked out and hell, if I scream like a 12 year old school girl like I did with the first Resident Evil with that damn dog jumping through the window, then even better. Games like Silent Hill, Condemned, F.E.A.R. and Dead Space all have their own unique scares and thrills that remind me what makes video games so special.

Encountered a bug accidentally while finding the Krogan on 'Korlus' at the Blue Suns Facility. Bug was easily duplicated. Small and harmless really, but still interesting.

Cliffy B said there would be kick-ass game news this week, and technically, he was right. And I don't like saying that, but he was right. There had been quite a lot of speculation about recent teases between Capcom and Microsoft, as well as Epic, who are still promising some 'face-melting news' coming soon. So I guess this trailer was one of those teases. Now, being a fan of Gears of War and then NOT being a fan of the game any longer, I still found it orgasmic to see Marcus in Dom in the upcoming Lost Planet 2 game. Normally I would hate this concept but I think this decision will help Lost Planet 2 in the overall 'epicness' department. I was going to buy it either way, but throwing in some Epic characters from Gears of War will no doubt help with sales. I wonder how the stories will tie in. Can't wait to see more now!
