Of Cowboys & Pansys, a wonderful parable for our times by a writer named Tessler.

Tessler's site is a thought-provoking new place for Conservatives to discuss the issues of the day, in entertaining, informative, ways, and one such way is exemplified by this piece.

I'm not the most religios person on the planet, but this powerful, moving, essay, is much needed food for thought, and should be read by anyone concerned about what's happening to America, and Freedom.

As Michelle Malkin decribes it on her own blog:

â€oeThe shadow of the jackboot …and a message about the transcendent power of faith over the worldy power of government from The Anchoress."

A wonderful, wide-ranging, interview (Watch the great videos, too!), about the most important Radio Personality of the last 25 years, and one of the most important spokespersons for Conservatism since the end of the Reagan Presidency.

I've been a fan since my days as a misguided Liberal, in 1990, and count listening to this man as probably the most important influence on my evolving political views.

I am a fan of Glenn Beck, but at the same time I do not think he is perfect, or infalible.

For that reason I find this essay to be an important, and thought-provoking, piece of writing as Conservatives Gird Our Loins for 2010, and 2012, and beyond.

    The writer says:

"I understand the center-right's frustration. For some time the Republican Party has failed us, though it does now seem to be getting on track based upon my observations here in Washington, D.C. I know how frustrating it was to watch the unfair destruction of Sarah Palin. In that sense, dare I say, I feel your pain. And I share the desperation of wanting to find someone that the media allows to stand up, to not be maligned while honestly and fairly speaking to our issues and representing our various just causes such as they are. But I refuse to accept just anyone in that role because it's too important to me.

And I especially refuse to accept someone so reckless, uninformed, unthinking, and possibly even unserious with a very real potential to do the right more harm than good in the end."

To see why he feels this way, and read the, um, kerfluffel, over his essay, brewing in the comments, read the full piece.

Yes, if our politicians don't reflect these values then we must be concerned.

    Especially #5:

I believe the United States of America is the greatest country on earth and terefore will not apologize for policies or actions which have served to free more, and feed more people around the world than any other nation on the planet.

Wow, oh, Wow, what a powerful essay!

Glen Beck received a letter the other day, from a woman very concerned about the future of our nation, and she begins this way:

"An open letter to our nation's leadership:

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me.

Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me.

There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now.

You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?"

Please, if you give a Rats Ass about this great country of ours...read the the whole thing, and join me in signing the petition.

    Soooo....

I'm 49 years old, this month....

I've been Listening to El Rushbo since 1990, when I was a Misguided Clintonista.

Eventually I became a Moderate Conservative, thanks to Rush & the words of many others.

The other day I watch El Rushbo give his First Televised Address to the Nation @ the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), as a direct Conservative Challenge to all that The Socialist, the Dimmocrats, & those whose are hellbent on leading America straight to ruin

    My reaction?

I'm just so excited, and happy, I could dance!!! ;-D

This page on the Limbaugh site has the written transcript, and several ways to hear ths magnificent, thought-provoking, and often very funny, speech.

  • Why is the Twitter community so Left-wing? - Telegraph Blogs

Conservatives finding voice on Twitter, countering sites rampant Liberalism?

    FROM THE ARTICLE:

All #TCOT's popularity really proves is that conservatives are better organised and better connected.

Let's face it, in the liberal Twitterverse, they need to be.

Is it that deeply unfashionable to be a Republican or a Tory? Are young people not prepared to take the risk of saying something that might come back to haunt them? Or is it just that conservatives are less fashion-conscious, and don't feel the need to constantly declare their political affilations? Why is the Twitter community so pervasively left-wing?

Activity on on Twitter is generally public, whereas activity on Facebook is generally private.

The social cost of saying something right-wing online can be enormous, and reputations can be shattered very easily on Twitter.

I know several young conservatives who censor themselves, creating an "acceptable" public persona so as not to be ridiculed or derided.

Surely Twitter is the perfect medium for free, stream-of-consciousness expression.

It's a terrible shame that young conservatives feel so oppressed."

Personally I think there is room for both Liberal, and Conservative views, on Twitter, and am not averse to following a Tweeper who is liberal.

Contrary to popular impression Tweeting is not all about politics, and issues.
