Snailrind
Last seen: 3 days ago
Snailrind is a woman from The Wee County, Scotland, UK
I am a mad bag lady, so they tell me. I like to shuffle around the place with my shopping trolley, rummaging, cussing, and collecting feathers. One day I will have a ferret to call my own. Maybe two ferrets. They will live inside my clothes.

Your pets can't go with you when the Rapture comes--so how do you prepare for their welfare after you have gone to the Great Whatever-it-is in the Sky?
I love that this atheist agency goes to lengths to ensure that they actually could accommodate the pets on their lists if necessary. -

No Divorce Initiative Lampoons Gay Marriage Ban : NPR

"The 2010 California Marriage Protection Act is meant to be a satirical statement after California voters outlawed gay marriage in 2008, largely on the argument that a ban is needed to protect the sanctity of traditional marriage. If that's the case, then Marcotte reasons voters should have no problem banning divorce." -

When it snows, students in the UK will (if they can shake off their hangovers for long enough) build snowmen on campus.
In Minnesota, they make two-storey-high scenes of space insects and men with guns battling giant worms.
As you do. -
Why Iams? | IamsCruelty.com

Hm. Looks like the stuff in the video I stumbled doesn't happen any more, at least for the most part, at least not publicly. Now they are doing what I thought they'd done all along: using volunteer pet owners to report their observations at home. IAMS are still experimenting on animals in at least one laboratory, but apparently aren't allowing any inspections, so who knows what they're doing in there.
And who knows why.
As the IAMS guy in the video said: "you have pain; you want solution, no matter what it costs. As time goes, the pain gets forgotten. No more pain means you are willing to pay as much for that, and that's what's happening here: they got hit by Animal Rights; now they did some dealing, they made some promises, now the Animal Rights are cooling off. Now their pain is gone." -
Investigation into Iams

Holy mother of God. IAMS do *what* to all those dogs and cats so we can spoil ours? I had no idea pet food companies even *had* animal laboratories. I thought they gave freebies to volunteer pet owners and asked for feedback. Life-saving medical research is one thing. Crippling dogs to make food nicer for other dogs is just bizarre. And those cages...
Can there be any pet owner who is okay with this?
