Foxhole Atheist, Justin Griffith. I spearhead the Rock Beyond Belief project,...

This is what happened when USMC Sgt. Paul Loebe asked for equality - putting on an atheist themed festival similar to their Christian festival.
"...The very next day I was called into the office and stood tall while getting yelled at for over an hour. Assaulted with claims of improper political activity and jumping the chain of command I was ordered to cease all activity for the event. I was denied the very rights I was serving my country to defend!..."
Information not included in Paul's article: They even threatened to kick him out of the military if he didn't 'stop being political'. They even attempted this blackmail with a screenshot of his facebook profile's 'about' section - where he identified a political party. He didn't flinch... he called me.
I get email. I'll spare you because it was simply lyrics to a god-botherer song. I replied "Poetry sucks. Get a guitar." That riled him up, so he expressed anger and then he 'triumphantly' sent me another set of lyrics.
So I wrote this short poem... he didn't like it. What do you think?
There's a massive push to feed Christians and Atheists together right before the foxhole atheist festival at Fort Bragg.
I think it invites the conversation that America clearly needs to have. I have it on a regular basis with my fellow soldiers, and it's not that scary.
Army commander officially invites Richard Dawkins and others to specifically 'criticize' Christianity at Fort Bragg, after evangelicals tried to stop their festival. Everyone's a goddamned critic these days.
Atheist birthday cake!
All those people building bomb shelters in Idaho and South Dakota were so stupid HAHAHA!!!!
It took at least 5 years of soldiers begging for this to stop:
"I was in AIT at Fort Eustis,VA in 2003 and the drill sergeants tried to force everyone to go to a Christian evangelical rock concert ."
"Everyone was forced to toe the line to pull out our dog tags and show our religious affiliation we had on the tags."
"The soldiers who were not Christians were forced to buff the floors and clean the barracks. Once all of the soldiers returned from the concert they were not required to help buff the floors."
Televangelist Pat Robertson explains the mystery of 'how time works' live on the air.
Short video, but hilarious. Transcript included.
“…every homosexual represents a heightened security risk” (see video)
Apparently he wants to go way beyond DADT, he wants to pass YES ASK YES TELL AND GTFO YOU HOMOS legislation.
Every Christmas, I try to break down barriers on a face to face level. It's all about increasing respect, visibility, and acceptance of atheists in the military community.
I'll always volunteer for the 24 hour staff-duty shift, that some poor bastard always gets stuck with. The staff duty job is assigned on a rotational basis, 365 days a year. The assignments are determined through a system that is about as fair as the command makes it (mine does a good job).
agnostic lets us all know we are dumb, but he hates mockery. Also he can't spell 'atheist'.
Didn't see this coming (it was too dark)
This happened sometime before dawn, and is the second definitive act of vandalism. These pastaphobes need to be stopped!
Guess what the atheists at Travis AFB are planning to do in retaliation... (look before commenting)
This ‘win’ is still bittersweet, as the atheists responsible are still banned from meeting on post. Say for instance, *near THIS sign.*
Also, the sign has already been vandalized.
Dave Silverman, Ashley Paramore, Greydon Square, and many more made this a memorable experience. I even made my first speech to civilians, and I'll be putting it up shortly.
Before that, I thought I'd post these oddball snapshots.
Christopher Hitchens has died.
He wants to be remembered "as a man who fought against totalitarianism in all its forms."
With head held low and glass held high, it was appropriate for the flag to split the difference.
The shit just hit the jet engine's turbine at Travis Air Force Base.
Rawlings’ intent was to provide the local atheist community with a voice, letting them know there were others out there. He said was excited when American Atheists stepped in and offered to make it all happen.
Unfortunately, the illusion of a pluralistic environment was shattered when Rawlings was told by his USAF chaplain that he could not participate.
Young atheist soldier not sure how to answer Master Sergeant's question: "Who here is offended by religion?"
They had to shut down the campaign early because of all the holiday packages being sent by ATHEISTS!
