This may seem like a touching story about an old lady who had a whole bunch of kids, or "a large, loving family". However, when I read that she was devoutly Catholic (ie, couldn't use birth control) and believed that "she was brought into the world to multiply" AND she believed a wife should have a meal cooked when the family returned at the end of the day..."Then you wait on your husband hand-and-foot when he returns home", well, the whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth. This is a sad story about a lady who was brainwashed by a patriarchal system to be an unquestioning slave. And she had to live this life for 94 years. Hardly a feel-good article.

I don't like worm thingies. I get icky feelings. I'm not photoblogging it, because it's a big wormy thing with a funny head. Gross. (Caterpillars, larvae, pupae and actual worms are all worm thingies. We have a long history, worm thingies and I. Now I try to avoid them.) -

These are supposed to be funny, but I just find them depressing. Walking around with that etched into your skin, sheesh. I guess if you want to be stupid about getting a tattoo, then you have to suffer the permanent bad art on your arm/chest/forehead. If you're considering getting one, please, go to a proper artist, not your drunken friend, get a transfer placed onto the skin, check it out in the mirror, it it looks wrong, wipe it off and try again until it's perfect, before allowing the needle to come close. Unless you want to pay tribute to bad tattoos, then ask the drunken friend.
