'The thing is that the cavemen that drew in the caves owned the caves. This is not the case for Vandalism.' thats avoiding the issue though, since everyone already knows that the owners have the legal right to remove graffiti. the question is whether they should, ie whether they have the moral right to. art of all kinds is generally enriching, like how even only low quality pop music being available would still be better than having no music, and a lot of graffiti is better than low quality pop music comparatively. although, to stretch the metaphor, you wouldnt have music in a library and you shouldnt have graffiti everywhere either; probably the rule mentioned earlier on this page, if you cant make the space better dont touch it, should apply to the building owners too.
