"Strandbeest" (Criaturas de la Playa / Beach Creatures)

Inmensas esculturas robóticas de apariencia orgánica que se desplazan con la fuerza del viento, "caminando" sobre la arena mojada (donde las ruedas serían inútiles) sin motores ni sensores. Fueron ideadas en un ordenador en forma de algoritmos y construidas con plástico flexible, cintas adhesivas / esqueletos de acero, piel del poliester, etc.
Se pueden ver hasta el 30 de octubre en ArtFutura 2005, Mercat de les Flors, Barcelona!

Huge robotic sculptures and organic appearance, which use the wind strength as a source of energy, "walking" on the wet sand (where the wheels would be useless) and do not require engines or sensors. They were designed inside a computer as an algorithm and are made with flexible plastic tubes, adhesive tape / steel skeleton, polyester skin, etc.
