    It's easy to achieve savings when you front-end the taxes and phase in the supposed benefits later. This bill, if passed, will have to be merged, behind closed doors again, with a similar House bill that starts the tax increases beginning in 2011 but does not fully phase in the spending until 2014, creating early surpluses that create the illusion of fiscal responsibility.

    Starting in 2014, Reid's bill would set up new insurance marketplaces called exchanges. Consumers would have the "choice" of purchasing government insurance, aka the "public option." The fact is that insurance companies can't long compete with a public option funded by a government that knows not the word profit and can print money at will.

    The House bill is also said to reduce the deficit, but it accomplishes this feat by ignoring a separate $209 billion "doctor fix" that would compensate physicians for cuts to doctors' Medicare reimbursement rates. Will this be included in the final "final" bill?

    Hold on to your wallets and your health. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

    The three stars on the flag represent the three different land forms in Tennessee. Mountains in the east, highlands in the middle and lowlands in the west. On the flag these regions are bound together in an unbroken circle. The field is crimson with a blue background for the stars. The final blue strip relieves the sameness of the crimson field and prevents the flag from showing too much crimson when it is limp.
