EVERY BLOG SHOULD HAVE:

1. A Blog or Business Name - ideally one that is memorable, easy to spell, and not terrible common so it can be easily found online
2. A Blog Logo that can also be cropped or reduced and used as your Avatar on Social Networking sites, your Gravatar in blogs and a Favicon.
3. Blog / Business Slogan also called a Tagline - critical to make it instantly obvious what your blog site is about
4. Search function - ideally in the top right in either the header or the right sidebar
5. Pages for about, contact, and any others specific to your business
6. An obvious way to Subscribe to RSS, Subscribe to email, Follow on Twitter and other options you desire

I like a good check list. We used the principals on our blog, GoodMillwork.com and I agree with their importance.

This is a really interesting article, or list, of things that can be composted. We have a compost pile and it's great to use as mulch for newly planted plants. I'd say though, the most common things we put in there are grass clippings and produce that was past its prime. Perhaps it is less that I thought I could compost pet hair and cellophane bags, and more that it never crossed my mind. I think posts like this one become invaluable in our ever-green going society. I suppose, in an effort to maximize my compost efforts, the next time I go to throw something away, I will reexamine, maybe check the list, and consider it for the pile out back. Thank you for the list!

This is a brilliant idea! I am all about taking something that is on its last limb, revamping, and making it useful for my life. I especially love taking things with a history, like your 100 year old door, and using them in my home. That is some beautiful wood trim. It looks like a nice string of pearls. Thank you for sharing this great idea -- I suppose I'll be on the lookout for my own historic door.

The unfinished to finished basement transformation always makes me smile. You start with such a blank slate.. a skeleton of walls, slab floor, exposed pipes, and you turn it into a beautiful living space. This is one impressive basement! Even down making room for the laundry room door trim, it is creative, fresh, and gorgeous! Thank you for sharing!

The molding looks great! I think "scallion" is a very well-suited color to go with the wall color. I love the idea of trying different colors for trim. It seems that everyone does white or cream...even...off white! Why not make a bolder statement when it comes to trim..a highlight of the wall? A little color on the trim keeps things interesting!
