FDA Approves Frist Ever Germ Zapping Self Sanitizing Keyboard for Use in Healthcare

I first wrote about the start up company back in March of 2009 and now it appears that they have the FDA approval for use of the keyboard. The keyboard sits inside an enclosed unit and rolls out for use and when completed, it is sucked back in for treatment with UV lighting to clean the board of bacteria, etc.

CMS to Put Doctor Claim Data Online-Helps Avoid a Dow Jones Lawsuit But How Much Use Or Abuse Will It Really Merit As Most Are Not Skilled Enough To Deal with Flawed Data

I wrote about this before and a while back Dow Jones did file a lawsuit about the use of the data. If you have ever done any medical billing, then you know up front how all of this works. Truly as far as some crunched numbers this may offer some insight, but today with the old paradigms of data on a screen and how people look at it and how employees are told to work with data, again the value here with this information to me is very questionable and again leaves room for additional algorithms to be written for decision making processing. Back in January of this year is when the lawsuit over the data was filed against HHS.

"Occupy Algorithms"-"The Attack of the Killer Algorithms Part 5" - Nothing Will Improve Until Audits and Actions Takes Place To Correct Formulas Built for Profit Only by Corporations And We Battle Back With Math

This is kind of a summary statement of what I have been saying for the last number of years. The Occupy movement basically reinforces this with the frustrations, loss of jobs and market that focuses only on financial gain with a serious loss of ethics. The Occupy movement represents this for all of us in the 99% group. You keep reading that the 1% keep getting richer and they are. They have the "math" and algorithms on their side 100% that allows this to occur.

Computer on a USB Stick-Turns Any Screen Into an Android OS-Can Plug Into a TV, Tablet and More - Instant Cloud Computing Has Windows, Linux and Mac Embedded

This is a pretty wild gadget with it's own quad core processor and wireless capabilities with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It has a connection for HD graphics too. In addition there are virtual operating system for Windows and Mac included. This could be an easy way to get to your VPN with being able to plug in to any screen device or television. The article said this should be out around the middle of next year. Who would have ever thought they would cram processors into the USB stick, not to mention the wireless?

"Killer Algorithms: Part 2" Disturbing News for Consumers With Credit Scoring Adding New Data Analytics-Some of the Same Methodologies Used by Insurers With Flawed/Potential Erroneous Data-One More Reason to Continue Occupying Wall Street

We see all of this in the news all the time with getting better with analytics and having more information as far as a "consumer rap sheet" on all of us; however the problem still lies in how this is used and the fact that when you dig deep there are tons of errors and flawed data to consider. You have to remember that even up to a few years ago we did not have the elaborate reporting system we have today and we have years and years of data input, which means years and years of mistakes and data input errors too, we are all human here last time I looked.

Microsoft Kinect Effect-Sensors Everywhere Including the Hospital OR- Video

This is a very cool commercial and has a little bit of everything in it with using in many environments. Earlier this year I met Microsoft/XBOX Corporate VP Ilan Spillinger at the Israel Conference and heard his fascinating story on how the technology come to Microsoft and how it came across his path a couple of times before it got there. Check out the part to where the surgeon stop and runs over and looks at his images.

Occupying Wall Street-It's All About the "Attack of the Killer Algorithms"-The Unfair and Marketing Exploit of Ethics Using Math-This Could be a Subject for Michael Moore to Explore and Document In a Movie

I have been watching the news coverage just like everybody else and seen the frustration and a united grouping of no one cause, just a society of frustrated citizens and yes it is here and you can't hide it and that is what I see the movement to be. Nobody has come along and dug and deeper though to really see how this all came about and bottom line is the math.

Supreme Court Likely to Rule on Healthcare Law Early Next Year-This Gives The Justices Time to Rent Some Computing Space from the DOE As They Will Need It

Well after this amount of time and different interpretations we want to make sure that all data and information is included so we get it right. Why the DOE? They have the third fastest computer in the world and they do rent out space. HHS and the NIH have research running on it now so when it comes to something this big, get the right tech power to handle the details and put everything into a format that they can work with. It makes sense and is exactly how business functions today so there's not reason to go by the seat of our pants on this. Here's a little history on the Super Computer's power and computing space.

"Numbers Don't Lie, But People Do"-Radio Interview from Charles Siefe-Journalists Take Note, He Addresses How Marketing And Bogus Statistics Are Sources of Problems That Mislead the Public & Government

*******There's a ton of healthcare addressed here*****

In doing this blog I really have to evaluate what goes up here as with marketing and advertising on steroids today, I want to have good information and not someone just looking for a pitch, I get lots of those. There's a few other folks talking about this book too, like Scientific American.

You have to ask questions as there are "dirty" algorithms out there and how dirty they are varies. Some are just stupid mistakes while others are very finely crafted to maximize profits and sometimes at the expense of those "who do not ask questions even when they know something is not right
