Marina is a woman from Athens, Greece

"But where did you wander All night long in the hard reverie of stone and sea? I told you to count in the naked water its luminous days On your back to rejoice in the dawn of things Or again to wander on yellow plains With a clover of light on you breast, iambic heroine. You have a taste of tempest on your lips And a dress red as blood Deep in the gold of summer And the perfume of hyacinths--But where did you wander Descending toward the shores, the pebbled bays? The Earth Mother

We are all thankful to our Mother, the Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life.
She supports our feet as we walk about upon her. It gives us joy.

    ..

May the sacred stream of amity flow forever in my heart, may the universe prosper such
    is my cherished desire.
May my  heart   sing  with  ecstasy  at  the  sight  of  the virtuous, and may my life be an
    offering at their feet.
May my heart bleed at the sight of the  wretched, the cruel, the poor and their religious,
and may my tears of compassion flow from my eyes.
May I always  be there  t o show  the path to the pathless  wanderers  of life,  but  if they
should not hearken to me, may I bide in patiently.
May  the  spirit of goodwill enter all our hearts, may we all sing  together  in  chorus the
    immortal song of human concord.

    The immortal songs -

    AXION ESTI

    PASSION

    Ode II

Still very young I came to know voices of a hundred years
Not the old pine tree's creaking for a moment in the chest of forests
Only the dog's loud barking in the mountain whereon the men have trod
And there was smoke from low-slung houses and the gaze ineffable
Of those in death's last agony the turmoil of the other world

Not the quick caws of leggy storks lingering within the wind
Calm falls like rain and in such rain the garden vegetables grunt softly
Only the writhing animals' all-inarticulate stifled gasp
And two times two black circles underneath the Holy Virgin's eyes
Within the fields of women's aprons and the fields of burial

Only a knock upon the door nobody at all is there
Neither a single trace of hand is found in that thin frost of tresses
Though I have waited many years I never seem to have got the calm
The portion that I got was short when all my siblings shared things out
The harness with its studs of stone the perfidy of sliding snakes.

" My home is a person, not a place. "

    sensuality09-2

Each evening I ask you where are you from
    And each morning you answer
I was created for this eternal moment
To be by your side forever more
In the sunlight we stand apart
    Yet casting one single shadow
A diaphanous white stone between us
Our names carved in it by the finger of God
Waiting for the day of the perfect word
When our spirits become light and become wind
Writing out names in the sky and upon the sand
                                      ~ Gene ~

She Came Forth From the Sea

You come to me, clad in raven hair
Golden eyes more pure than the sun
Bearing figs to me in the morning
Your name of five angelic tongues
Most Precious Flower Come From the Sea
At evening I feed you pomegranate
From trees nurtured by the hands of seraphs
Each drop that runs down your chin
I kiss away as gently as a thought
And at night we sleep beneath the boughs
Of trees without names, covering ourselves
With their fronds as with softest wool

STOP BRITAIN'S ILLEGAL POSSESSION of the PARTHENON MARBLES !

Recently a member of our cause affiliate -The International Parthenon Sculptures Action Committee  (IPSACI) proposed  that we  should act  so  that  the European  Parliament pass a law obliging those EU countries possessing looted sections of the Parthenon Metopes and Friezes (the Parthenon  Marbles) to return  them t o Greece. It  was  further  suggested that Greece could then  agree  to  loan - as  the  owner  of  the  Sculptures - some  pieces,  eg  30  of  the repatriated Sculptures - to Britain for 6 months at a time.

The British government would then be able to arrange for this exhibition to be sent to different UK museums, such as Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, etc, something which would attract many additional visitors to the museums and add to their prestige. The rest of the time the Marbles would be in the Athens Acropolis Museum. This would settle the 200 year dispute with Britain and right a massive historical and cultural wrong against Greece and a unique UNESCO cultural heritage monument.

Do you agree that we should support this suggestion. Please let us know your views so we can act on them.

"I believe in all that has never yet been spoken..".

                  "Know  ye,
                       ye must become formless
before ye are with the LIGHT.."

I love the dark hours of my being. My mind deepens into them.
There I can find, as in old letters, the days of my life, already lived,
and held like a legend, and understood. Then the knowing comes:
I can open to another life that's wide and timeless.
So I am sometimes like a tree rustling over a grave-site and making
real the dream of the one its living roots embrace:

    a dream once lost
    among sorrows and songs.

    ~ Ranier Maria Rilke ~
