Simple yet sophisticated and elegant look at the stripping of gay rights in California through Proposition 8 through the body as art.
It's fun to make fun of stupid hysteria over illnesses that are not that serious!
If I were a cat, I would be this cat...
Trinfo Cafe is Trinity College's cybercafe for the Frog Hollow community in Hartford. However, many people who live in other Hartford neighborhoods also make use of Trinfo. This is one of Trinity's shining star because here Trinity students run the cafe, teach computer classes in both English & Spanish, and work with the director to offer media literacy movie nights, classes, awareness, etc. It's a great place to see college students interact & work together with members of the surrounding community!
This page is so inaccurate regarding women's sizes, it's not even funny. As a fashionista and as someone who has lived in Europe (and still buys tons of European clothing), I've noticed that when US sizes are converted to European sizes the most common mistake is to assume that a 34 is a 4. I've been buying European clothing for more than 12 years and I've found that a US 0 is really a EU 34, a US 2 = EU 36 and so on. The problem is that American made clothing for women keeps on getting larger but sizes continue getting "smaller" in order to make us believe that we're not getting fatter. As for women's shoes, please know that the way the sizes are converted in this chart are two sizes off. A US 6 is really a EU 36 and so on. if a woman who usually wears a US 5 buys a EU 37 she will have enough material to make a third shoe.
About.com can can be helpful sometimes but so misleading other times...
2 thumbs down.
I just went to this little restaurant in Hartford, CT and it's simply charming. The type of food served here is a mix of fresh Puerto Rican home cooking and American classics. The ambience is cheerful and the people friendly. The food was fresh and simply delish! If you're in the area come and visit!
This website is dedicated to El Habito a political cabaret in Mexico City run by the talented couple Jesusa Rodriguez and Liliana Felipe. Enjoy this site as they poke fun at the Mexican goverment, world politics and gender issues. Also, visit the pages dedicated to their performance art work.
Great site on this wonderful Native American performance/installation artist! Luna utilizes his body, often museum space and the absurd in order to criticize and question the image of the Native American that is portrayed in the media and Western and European museums. And he does all of this with tons of dark humor and sarcasm!!! Enjoy!
Not as good as http://vagalume.uol.com.br/ BUT it is another good source for finding lyrics of Brazilian songs.
Un performance muy interesante de una chica peruana brillante.
These beauty products are pretty good. Thye're sulfate, paraben & ethoxylate free products (not to mention they use organic ingredients!). I've used other beauty products that claim they are organic, vegan, paraben free, etc, etc & work at the same time and they just don't do it for me. This is one of the best!
Website dedicated to the Place Matters project in New York City. Place Matters' mission is to foster conservation of NYC's historically & culturally significant places. Too often our beloved (& sometimes ignored) places & buildings are destroyed so that private corporations or the government (being paid by private corporations) can build some modern aesthtically disgusting & impersonal buildings & pseudo-gardens. This website provides a space where concerned citizens can educate & inspire themselves into taking action!
Beautiful acoustic music in Spanish by Puerto Rican singers.
