I had such a glorious cycle ride along Tiverton canal yesterday that I thought I must post some photos of it on my SU page. The canal was originally cut in Victorian times through hilly Devon farmland to transport limestone by horse drawn barges from a quarry to kilns where it was processed into mortar. Now it is only a peaceful tourist attraction where the locals cycle or walk their dogs, and properties with a frontage onto it fetch half a million pounds.

Carol's garden in Halberton, Devon in the South West of England.
Here are some recent photos of an English cottage garden in mid Summer. What I really like about her garden is how lush and overgrown it is. So many gardeners here cut everything back to keep borders neat and tidy, whereas I love to see abundant growth.

India has a new landmark and Hindu temple on grand archetectural scale. It's great to know that volunteers can build such magnificent temples there, as in Europe we could probably never again reproduce our cathedrals as they were built in the middle ages.
