    Today is the day.

As of this morning, I get to say, "Hello, you have reached TimeTech. Lisa B. speaking"

Of course, I get to do a lot of other things, too. Like eventually clean up their website. *rubs hands and grins..*

The tenters have been released. I just got an email saying a job offer was in the mail, and they would be delighted if I would start on the 15th of May.

The interview went fine. They thought that if they took me, they could probably find other things for me to do than answer the phone. But of course, what they really need is someone to answer the phone.

They will let me know this week sometime whether or not I got the job. I would like it, its perfect for me. Small techie company producing extremely specialized equipment for measuring time, and comparing time measurements across time laboratories. For purposes ranging from the mundane, such as public transportation to the tricky, such as global positioning of satellites, to the exotic, for example for communications between the earth and probes traveling to Mars and Venus.

So cool. I am on tenterhooks.

Go google it. TimeTech.de, Tenterhooks. :)

And I have a job interview with TimeTech next Thursday. As receptionist, but who cares? If they take me, I get to say, "Hi, I work at TimeTech."

    Cooooooo.

Besides, if you look at their website, they need me. To bring their English up to standard. Which I can do.

Got time, anyone? from the site "TimeTech GmbH is sole European manufacturer of Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer modems (SATRE TWSTFT), used by European and North-American Institutes to compare high accuracy clocks."

    Cool, man.

German tax laws are like tax laws anywhere- complicated out the kazoo. And that is why this is so cool. You can let the java applet estimate the tax load for any brutto earnings. Helpful to find out what a pay raise will really mean, or how much you are going to get to keep from a particular job pay offer.

Feeling homesick, I guess. I like the range of views to be found here, too. Not to mention the racy topics :) Sex in early America. Snicker.
