Who am I?
I'm a liberal. I live in Texas.
It surprises quite a lot of people when they realize there are real life liberals living in Texas. Perhaps the surprise comes from the stigma that hovers over Texas because of our ass-backward state legislature. Perhaps it's the large corporate presence that has every politician in their back pockets.
Regardless of what it may be, there are freethinkers and liberals here in Texas. Most of them, like me, take refuge in the cities, which are an oasis of diversity and acceptance in an otherwise desert of stupidity and ignorance. I shit you not. The further you go down south, the more chances of encountering a radical conservative or a xenophobic idiot.
