Working on a Phd in Theatre. I am specializing in the Teaching of Lighting Design. I teach at a University in the Theatre department and I am Technical Director of their Theatre. I also work on Arena shows like Cher, Motley Crue, John Mellencamp, Black Eyed Peas, Rob Thomas, Rod Stewart, Nelly Furtado, Bare Naked Ladies, Bob Dylan, BB King, Il Divo, Moody Blues, John Fogerty, and Hilary Duff.

Busy Week coming up!!

I was in Oregon on the weekend attending a production of Macbeth at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. A very entertaining production despite the 1200 mile round trip!! Coming up we have our production of The Balcony opening on Thursday. Several trade shows and Awards dinner in the corporate world and Stone Temple Pilots a week from Saturday.

More Concert Work

It hasn't been too busy recently. I worked on Marilyn Manson (very cheaply done production), The Blue Man Group which is an excellent show but no crew T-Shirts!and on Friday we have SlipKnot and the Deftones which seems an unusual pairing.
I did get to work on the Women's World Hockey Championship which was fun even though the US won.

World Women Hockey Championships

A busy weekend working on the Women's Hockey in Vancouver. We are doing some pre Olympic testing so we met with the Head of Officiating for Olympic hockey. I got to see all the playoff games and unfortunately Canada lost to the US in the Gold medal game.

World Fire and Polce Games

I am now in Vancouver for 2 1/2 weeks working on the Games. It is quite varied work. I have done rigging, lighting, sound, driven trucks, and anything else that needs to be done. The most interesting thing so far has been setting up cameras for the Fireman Stair climbing event. We had to put cameras on the 9th, 16th and 25th floors so we could send a video feed to the basement ballroom and spectators could watch the action on a large screen.

Here is the view from the DJ Booth at the festival I just worked on. My stage was right on the beach. It was all Drum and Bass and it was called Liquid Soul.
