Figjam is a guy from Christchurch, New Zealand

I'm not dead...
So I must be stronger.

The Biker's Prayer
The motorcycle is my shepherd
I shall not want
It maketh me burnout on black pavements
It leadeth me beside busy motorways
It restoreth my soul
It leads me in the path of quickness for its names sake
Yea I ride through the valley of adrenalin
I shall fear no turbo
For Torque art with me
Thy clutch and thy throttle they comfort me
Thou preparest a Track for me in the presense of mine enemies
Thou hast anointed my engine with oil
My bike overpowers
Surely traction and victory shall follow me
All the days of my life
And I shall dwell in the house of the CC's, Forever
Amen

Warning! Put the coffee down before going through this blog. You'll be spraying it over all over your screen or snorting it out your nose as you try not to laugh.

Another one of Corinne's slideshows (check out the "Our Trips" section here).

This time on the Rusty Nuts 2007 Southern Cross. Run every second year and usually around 6000km by the time I get home.

The Mini Returns run organised by the Rusty Nuts. This slide show was created by a friend I met on the run.

Run by a friend. Motorcycling is an awesome way to see this country and probably a lot easier than in most other countries.

From the page: "Buy a motorbike in time for your New Zealand holiday and sell it back when you leave. We'll source the motorcycle, service it, and have it in trip - ready condition in time for your arrival in NZ. Then we'll buy it back at the end of your holiday so you can make the most of your time here."

Something someone said a while back has been nagging me for ages because I couldn't figure out what was so familiar about the comment. I finally realised they had basically said the puchline to this joke.

Little Johnny was in maths class when the teacher asked, "If there were 5 birds sitting on a fence and i shot one off, how many would be left?"

The kids are all yelling out numbers, "5! 3! 6!", but none of them get it right. Finally she gets to Johnny and asks, "So how many are left, Johnny?".

Johnny answers, "None Miss, once the gun goes off, they'd all fly away".

"Actually Johnny the correct answer is 4, but I like the way you think!".

This annoys Johnny and he sits in the back class fuming, "Stoopid question! That'd never happen in real life." A little later he stands up and says, "K, Miss, i got one for you... there are 3 women sitting on a bench eating ice cream cones. The first one is licking the cone, the second one is sucking the cone and the third one is biting the cone. Which one is married?"

Now the teacher is thinking "Dammit! The little bastard has got me. I can't win whatever I say." Finally she answers with more than a little trepidation, "Umm... the one sucking the cone?"

To which Johnny replies, "No Miss, the one with the wedding ring. But I like the way you think!!"

Good grief that's cool! Everyone seems to be referring to it as the "Cyril Sportster", but it's actually listed as the "Rock 'N Bike", built by Cyril in Dachstein, France. It's based on a '91 HD Sportster with an Art of Racer frame.

I'm not a huge fan of the "dot punch detailing", but the rest is wicked.
  • Bitch Slap: The B movie is back - Hell For Leather

    Rated Aug 02 2008 1 review motorcycles, movies hellforleathermagazine.com

Jesus H. Christ! The chances of this being any good look pretty slim.

I'm not exactly encouraged by seeing so many members of the cast from one program (Xena) either. The trailer looks so bad that it has the potential to gain it's own cult following as one of the all time worst movies.

This coming from the guy (me), who loved "Howard the Duck", "Hercules Returns" and "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" (The Mootrix is awesome).

Probably the best thing about this movie was the following reply in an email conversation I was having:
"ok i see a car..i see boobs...ok, more boobs......yet again,boobs....oh!..surprise surprise ... boobs. If it was boobs I wanted to see,got a fine set of my own right here*feels herself up* lol"

It was all I could do not to snort the mouthful of beer I had just taken, back out my nose as I laughed (hint: take a look at my SU friends and have a wild stab in the dark as to who that was ;))
  • Samson Motorworks SkyBike takes riding airborne - Hell...

    Rated Aug 02 2008 2 reviews motorcycles hellforleathermagazine.com

Supposedly in an engineering phase at the moment.

By using telescopic wings capable of fully retracting into the bodywork, Samson hopes its creation will succeed where other flying cars and motorcycles have failed by being just as competent a road vehicle as it is an airplane.

The SkyBike will use a small, efficient motorcycle engine, enabling it to use normal pump gas and refuel at regular filling stations.

Performance expectations for the vehicle include 55mpg economy on land, 25 in the air, a 95mph maximum road velocity / 140+ while flying, 0-60mph in six seconds and it should only need a 500' runway to take off.

The SkyBike achieves these figures by coupling the motorcycle engine to the rear wheels while driving and to the rear-mounted propeller on airplane mode.

The day is fast approaching where stuff like this, that we dreamed of as kids, will be a reality. Hell, a lot if it already is.
  • Norton Manx rethinks the single-cylinder sportsbike -...

    Rated Aug 02 2008 5 reviews motorcycles hellforleathermagazine.com

A design study from College for Creative Studies student David Mucci.

    It would use a 500cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a supercharger.

There's something about the simple, elegant and functional appearance of this bike that just appeals to me. It deserves to get built.
