Tom is a 65 year old man from Ithaca, NY, USA

I am a retired Cornell University professor, where I taught and conducted research for 28 years in the Department of Natural Resources, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I am a wildlife biologist and conservationist, and I studied birds and mammals in the wild. Most of my professional experience abroad has been in Costa Rica, but I made several trips to East Africa, Egypt, Madagascar, and Europe. Because I spent all of my professional life around 18-21 year old college students, I am experiencing some withdrawal symptoms since retirement.

At present, my wife, our black lab Zeus, and I live on 12 acres in upstate NY, where we try to live off the land as much as we can. These days I am mostly a nature watching, cigar smoking, scotch sipping, firewood cutting philosopher.

I just published "Life at DrTom's: Mostly Humorous Anecdotes by a Mostly Retired Cornell Professor", which can be found at www.lifeatdrtoms.com, or wherever eBooks are sold. I also write a blog that is mostly about how humorous I find it all, and about nature and ecology, which is found at www.lifeatdrtoms.blogspot.com.

I like Stumbles about nature, environment, travel, gardens, and some architecture, as long as they are documented (what is it and where). And basically, I believe that NOTHING happens for a reason.
