Interesting point of view, albeit it has a very low probability of it being "probably true". After all, this is the fruit of HIS theological research, opposing what counts over 400 Islamic thinkers throughout the ages.

Being a Muslim from Egypt, this article is SO true. Islam in and of itself is a very flexible, just, and simple religion. It's more of a social system that if applied properly, there will be a truly peaceful and flourishing civilization; just like during Al-Rashidun and Abbasids eras.

BUT, the truth is, Islam IS NOT applied righteously. Most, if not all, of current Muslim societies misinterpreted, neglected, or even altered its teachings and deep meanings.

Direct consequences include Islamists, and western "thinkers" who think that Islam = Jihad = Terror. Trivial Simplification that truly frightens me. (Think of an atheist explaining the Old Testament through his own news media. I don't think He'll be practically more knowledgeable than a priest, or even neutral to start with.)

All in all, this article depicts a Utopian Islamic community, which alas IS NOT currently present in ANY Islamic country.
