The Arrow and the Song

I shot an arrow into the air, It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight. Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air, It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong, That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak. I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

    Rated 08:16pm 1 review south america, video, music video youtube.com

    Why don't we take a little piece of summer sky,
    Hang it on a tree.
    For that's the way to start to make a pretty world,
    For you and for me.

    And for the sun we'll take a lemon bright balloon,
    You can hold the string.
    Oh, can't you see that little world of ours will be,
    The prettiest thing.

    We can gather rain enough for the stream,
    To hold our happy faces.
    When you want a breeze,
    I'll blow you a kiss or two.

    Take me in your arms and our little world,
    will be the place of places.
    Nothing must be made but breakfast and love.

    We'll hang a little sign that just says, "Paradise,
    Population two."
    I know together,
    We can make a pretty world,
    For me and for you -- for you,
    It's what I'm longing to do -- to do,
    To make a world with you.

    From the page: "Briefing Paper" Nov 2009
    The people of Gaza have been suffering for more than two years now under an illegal siege put in place by Israel. This siege has been aided and abetted by the international community. Poverty, hunger, and disease have taken hold of the Gaza Strip and thousands of people are homeless as a result of the war. As winter approaches the situation will become worse. The people of Gaza - young people in particular - face a very bleak future...

    John Ging, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Gaza says, "There is only one economy, there's a tunnel economy. You have zero exports and zero commercial imports through the crossing points. All that is allowed in is humanitarian aid and supplies. In terms of economic activity, there is no economic activity other than the tunnel economy..."

    God performed a miracle on two little girls here in Melbourne in that they survived an amazing operation at the skilful hands of a highly gifted medical team...let's hope and pray that the children of Gaza receive the same kind of blessings many fold. :)

    An official report, received by Arab League from the minister of prisoners' affairs in the Palestinian Authority (Ramallah), revealed that the Israeli occupation forces have kidnapped about 6,200 Palestinian children since the beginning of Al Aqsa Intifada (2000), including approximately 337 children still detained in Israeli prisons and interrogation centers... "

    I suppose that's another "achievement" Israel should be "proud" of...armed soldiers vs children, sounds about right......NOT!

    Look through the window into my tracker-free corner of the world where one will experience the "essence-de-moi". What that basically means is, what I see is what you get! I have no plan about what goes on my pages - it just happens. A new dimension has come about as a result of the Dec 08/Jan 09 attack on Gaza which has left an indelible imprint of images of death and destruction in my memory. No civilised country has the right to destroy human life so mercilessly. No longer do I sit on the fence, such was the force of Israel's brutality.

    I have wonderful friends who send me great links, if they don't, well then, I just "raid" their sites and help myself! :D Sometimes I'll comment on images, other times I'll just let the pictures do the "talking".

    All the well-intentioned "how-to's" and "what-not-to-do's" aside, common sense dictates certain respects, I will acknowledge any material hoisted from other stumblers and sites if it's not obvious - should I forget, well, it won't be the end of the world...stumbling IS fun, so stumble onwards and upwards! :)

    From the page: "The World Council of Churches (WCC) has asked the United Nations secretary-general to make sure that recommendations of a key report about war crimes committed during the conflict between Israeli and Palestinian armed forces in Gaza at the beginning of 2009 are properly followed up.

    In an 18 November letter, the WCC general secretary Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia urged the UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to take steps in order to press both Israel and Hamas to â€oeunconditionally concede the need for complete and credible investigations into their actions during the war."

    Yours truly was at Deakin for a board meeting yesterday as this siege was unfolding...I have a feeling that I was moving about under the grace of God yesterday because of time and place...I was in the right place at the right time!

    Still, today I'm asking myself a lot of, "what ifs"...

  • Second twin slowly awakens from coma | Herald Sun

    From the page: "KRISHNA began the slow process of waking from her medically induced coma today after lifesaving surgery to separate her from her twin sister Trishna.

    While Trishna was awake and talking yesterday, it was a more prolonged and careful process to rouse Krishna, who faces more complications after the sisters' gruelling 32-hour surgery.

    The twins, who were born joined at the head, were separated by a 16-member medical team at Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital on Tuesday.

    "Krishna is waking up slowly. She is more alert, starting to breathe more and opening her eyes,'' a statement from the Royal Children's Hospital said today.

    A spokeswoman said Krishna's eyes had fluttered and she had moved her limbs.

    Krishna's body has to make some major adjustments due to changes in her circulation and blood pressure..."

    From the page: "TRISHNA and Krishna are beginning their wonderful new lives as healthy little girls with hopes they will be home for Christmas.

    Brain scans have given the Bangladeshi orphans a remarkably clean bill of health after their 31 1/2-hour separation surgery this week.

    Trishna, the larger and stronger of the two, appeared to search for her sister after she was brought out of sedation.

    Krishna - who will have to make a greater physical adjustment - was being brought out of sedation last night after brain scans showed Royal Children's Hospital surgeons had pulled off a miracle.

    "The scans look great. I believe we have brought them through safely," an ecstatic neurosurgeon Wirginia Maixner said..."

    Fantabulous!!! Moira Kelly herself is an angel with intestinal fortitude above and beyond the call of duty, so to speak. The things she and her colleagues have endured in order to bring children out of war-torn zones for medical treatment is just amazing. I have listened to her speak at conferences and forums and on one occassion, had the pleasure of speaking at the same engagement. Moira is a hard act to follow. She's an extremely passionate and highly dedicated human being who talks at a "million miles an hour" but, she has so much to say in so little time.

    I'm still keeping my fingers crossed (old habits are hard to kick :)) for Trishna and Krishna and praying for their miraculous recovery to continue but what wonderful news to greet the day. Thank you, God. :)
