It's not just living on an island that
    sets The Landings apart.

Welcome to your own little corner of paradise - The Landings on Skidaway Island, an exclusive Savannah gated community as much known for its beauty as its personality. Located on one of the interior islands protected by barrier islands, just outside historic Savannah, Georgia, Skidaway Island retains a natural beauty undiminished by man's presence. But is it the beauty of the island that inspires the spirit of the community or does it originate from the people?

The entire community projects a vibrancy, an energy. But where does it come from? Perhaps it's The Landings' unique character that draws people who value it and perpetuate it. Almost 100 groups meet regularly within the community, bringing together artists, photographers, musicians, croquet players, flower arrangers, automobile enthusiasts, woodcrafters and writers. Whatever your interests, opportunities abound to socialize and stay active.

Couple On BikesRecognized by Urban Land Institute as "One of the nation's best residential communities;" ranked as one of the "Fabulous 50 Communities in the South" by LiveSouth Magazine; a "Top-100 Master-Planned Community" by Where to Retire Magazine and selected by Links Magazine as a "Premier Golf Property," The Landings is one of the most distinguished communities in the country.

What A Treat To Live Here.

"We live in an enchanted place. I was playing golf earlier today and while standing on the 18th tee at Oakridge, with the birds drifting over the fairway and an alligator snoozing on the bank next to some turtles, I mentioned to a friend that if someone had tried to describe this place to me while I was growing up in The Bronx, I wouldn't have been able to picture the scene. What a treat to live here."

Just 12 miles south of historic Savannah, Georgia, a unique and refreshing way of life resides beyond the gates of The Landings on Skidaway Island. The wealth of amenities and clubs are nothing short of exceptional and the natural surroundings - breathtaking. But the true essence of this community lies in its optimistic spirit. Come experience a life that is defined by the way you live.

The Landings on Skidaway Island is a 4,700 home private country club community approximately 20 minutes from downtown Savannah. With six golf courses, more than 50 miles of walking and biking trails, four clubhouse, thirty-four tennis courts and two deep water marinas, it represents a classic, heavily amnestied club community that almost 35 years ago set the model for future developments to come.

Its reputation--and its well-maintained environment--has apparently attracted the attention of increasing numbers of Baby Boomers who are now beginning their long-anticipated trek to the warmer South.

In 2004, sales through The Landings Company, the on-site brokerage company owned by the property owners association, tipped a record at $137,136,127 in closed sales. If that weren't enough, in 2005 sales soared to an eight year high of $169,816,965.

By the start of the fourth quarter of 2006, there has been relatively little cooling. According to Landings Company figures, while units sales are down somewhat overall, total dollar volume sales have declined less than five percent. Putting it another way, that means the average home sales price in 2006 at The Landings comes in at $545,260, an impressive increase of more than 6% over the 2005 average price, also a record. In fact, since 1988 when the Landings Company was formed, the average sales price overall at The Landings has increase by nearly 81%.

Local legend claims that when the Marquis de Lafayette reached the shores of DeBordieu, he exclaimed, "This land is so beautiful, it must be the borderland of God!" The French translation is "D'aborde Dieu." The Southern translation became "Debidue." Lafayette's description (whether fact or fiction) of DeBordieu still applies.

As one of the oldest coastal communities on the East Coast, DeBordieu enjoys a rich history. Pre-Civil War, DeBordieu was at the center of the 2nd largest rice-producing region in the world. The area prospered and the wealthy rice plantation owners built a colony of homes at DeBordieu...
