This review is more about filmmaking today then a review of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as a story.

Very good, very worthwhile reading, thoughtful, insightful. I enjoyed reading it very much.

I will likely see the 2D version of the film. Mainly because if I never make it to the other two types, I will be able to be immersed in the story as I enjoy doing.

If I get a chance at a future time to see it in 3D or 3D HFR, it will be more to see what all the talk about about first hand.

About 22,500 of the 25,000 signatures necessary for a response from the Administration were obtained when the White House unexpectedly cut short the time period for the petition. The site also went down for "maintenance" following an article in Wired that sought support for the campaign.
