Yeah, sure, so it does have quite a few valid points. However, there's a lot of junk too. I find it very ironic to read some of it. For example;
CSS that changes the hotlink colors
Isn't it fun when you surf to a page and your eyes stall out trying to figure out which piece of text are hotlinks? That underlined blue and purple are valuable navigational cues in the Web jungle. If the page has multi-colored links or links that are not easily distinguishable, then this is another case where overriding the browser's settings should be punishable by intimate acquaintance with a flensing knife.
The website in question does not have underlined links.
It makes me wonder when this text was originally written, as it reminds me of a book we have in our webdesign classroom in school. It's from the late eighties.
Besides, however much I agree that links should be distinguishable from the rest of the text (though not necessarily blue and underlined), I also value the aesthetics of a page. The writer is obviously oblivious as to what that word even means.
And how delightfully stupid that it link to a text written in 1995 in the "Other Good Advice" section. I asked when it was written? I rest my case, as I've decided I don't give a shit and don't want to know. (The page has been updated since then? Sure it has, but it's nevertheless old. Plus, I don't care.)
Ps. Isn't it fun when you surf to a page and can bash it like this as much as you please?
