Antinomy/science fiction

This is fantasy author Jim Butcher's site. I recently read the first seven volumes of his The Dresden Files. It is a not bad contemporary fantasy series that improves as it goes on. I give it an overall B grade, with the early books getting a B- and the later books getting a B+. The main character is a wizard PI working in a present day Chicago in which most people don't believe in magic. People who like Glen Cook's Garrett series will probably enjoy these. The chapter excerpts at Butcher's site will give you a good idea of what they are like.

This is the website of the author Jerry Pournelle, who makes his living writing science fiction and about computers. He has more basic good sense than 99.99+% of the population.
